QUOTE(lcy851031 @ Sep 25 2014, 09:16 AM) Next Round of League Cup, Liverpool had draw Swansea as next opponent. Gonna be a tough one based on Swansea's form. If i'm not mistaken Everton got knocked out of the League Cup; they're gonna wanna make a statement against usLet focus on this weekend match vs Everton. |

QUOTE(lp16 @ Sep 25 2014, 09:22 AM) Our current slump is due to players just not pulling their weight together. They're just not playing as a cohesive unit. Unless we play to our true potential, another tough one against the Toffees and most probably dropping points again. I think Balo got the right stuff. He's not a Sturridge/Suarez type player and won't be I fear. But what he has is a presence in the air and physicality. So often we've seen Suarez bullied and hard tackled to get him off the ball. Balo not doing what he does best as often as he should, but if you look at the goal vs Ludo and against West Ham, his control and touch can be quite good if he wants to (and no surprise that both crosses came in from Moreno).Front line looked so toothless and movement off the ball is just non existent. I don't know, maybe Balo is just not that type of player that we need. Decent but not suited to our style. Of all our players, only Moreno and Sterling looks good. The rest....... As I mentioned before, Balo is a genuine plan B, the type Dalglish had in mind when he hired Carroll. But the problem is now, without Sturridge, we got 2 plan Bs on the field (Lambert and Balo). So the only choice is to put in Borini, who if you ask me should be plan Y. |

I just realized something. Where a lot of folks including the media keep saying we're missing Suarez...even if we did have him we'd still be where we are now because he's suspended! But it is true...the problems were here even with Suarez, just that the constant act of Sruj and Suarez trying to outdo each other papered over the cracks

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 29 2014, 10:08 AM) If you don't know the person, you paid fresh graduate price, that's why fresh graduate generally won't able to fetch high wages, as employer don't know the ability of the hired person. While I agree with a lot of comments saying Suarez made BR look good, I'd point to our first 5 games last season and the results we achieved without Suarez to indicate we don't necessarily need him. What we need right now is a mobile forward, which Balo isn't. Really hope Struj coming back can sort this out. I'm still adamant we would have benefited more getting Remy than Balo. But if you paid 20K per month wages, you expect the person readily to slot in, and perform once the work started, not to come to learn and slowly find out what is your company doing, how your company doing business. This season is make or break for BR and also will tell us that whether it is Suarez who make BR looks good or BR indeed is good. |

QUOTE(AnythingK @ Sep 29 2014, 09:24 PM) I will not include King Dalglish into the comparison, he did won us CC and almost win FA cup(final) in his 1 & a half season, yea its a mickey mouse cup, but its still an achievement, and Liverpool doesn't even give King time, this is BR 3rd year btw. King also brought in Suarez (cough and Carroll). I'm gonna reserve my judgments to see how we play with Sturj and Balo for a few matches. If what we saw during the Tott game is to go by, I'd say what we're lacking is that pacey striker up front,Never happy and agree with the sacking of King, in case you forget, its him who promote Sterling, Ibe, & Suso into the 1st team. in b4 King also spent 100 million, yea no doubt both King and BR sucks at transfer. |

QUOTE(yeelong @ Oct 1 2014, 11:39 AM) calculative strategy lar. If we have a strong and high morale team now, no doubt we will go for a win. But a draw will be good for us. Losing to RM on both legs of the games will be expected as i can't see Basel and Ludogorets Razgrad beat RM at this moment. So, being conservative of me, 4 points from Basel (1 away draw, 1 home win) 6 points from Ludogorets Razgrad( win both home and away) will be a ticket to qualify group stage. Unless some unthinkable happened to RM. Inb4 Balotelli double against Basel...yep you heard it here first |

I think with Cout, Lallana and Sterling playing in and around Balo we have a good chance...currently still not sold on Marko though I believe he will come good. The central midfield double pivot though...having my doubts about Gerrard - Hendo. Maybe Lucas - Hendo?

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Oct 1 2014, 02:46 PM) I hope Rodgers doesn't tell the lads they are happy with a DRAW in Basel. I sorta agree with you there...the general mentality surrounding us right now is gloom and doom. A win, a healthy one too, away in the CL will help to lift some of that. Even better if it comes with good performances from underfperfoming players like Mario and Marko. This is definitely a must win game for Liverpool, irregardless of what form we are in. If you go in playing for a draw, there won't be any hunger to take 3 points from this. A win will also lessen the pressure on us when taking on RM. Rodgers must inject the proper mentality into our boys against Basel!!! Basel is solid team but they are still beatable IF Rodgers gets his tactics right. It's not OK to draw, imho A draw or loss, coupled with bad individual performances will not do morale good. |

4-3-3 didn't work with only sturridge, and it sure as hell doesn't look like gonna work with balo. Haih...we need Sturridge up top with Balo. Back to diamond

QUOTE(kevafk @ Oct 2 2014, 05:08 PM) We have now total of 4 players trying to prove his price tag. Balo, Lallana, sterling and Lovren.. Morientes, Keane, Aquilani, Gonzalez, Diao, Dossena, Diouf, Sahin, Adam, Babel...some of the many other flops I can remember...yeah flops go back far in our history, but obviously we'd wish it didn't happen nowIt's always heavy wear a red shirt, fans demanding all sorts of things. This is not the worst squad. Remember Voronin? Konchesky? Paulsen? Nunez? Kvarme? Bjornbye? Banyak lagi man Basically it's too early to promote Markovic, macam lembik lol.. Pass also no strength. Where else some trying too hard Not everyone come with instant impact, some take longer time. Hendo? Welsh Xavi? Kuyt? |
