I really want to criticise but i am just grateful for the win in the end.I was having a very bad feeling about this match. There 's a shitload to improve if real madrid are not to win by a cricket score on wednesday.

Am I the only one who really believe we can beat Madrid on wed? I seriously think we can.. Liv always turn on God mode in critical situation..

From the worse team in the PL to the best team in europe there is going to be slight increase in difficulty.Carlo ancelotti is very experienced and will know how to set his team up.I think madrid will win 2-0 playing on the counter.Having said that funnier things have happened.

There will always be lap dogs who will agree and say yes to whatever the club says.If the club says we will win all four trophies this season they will gleefully agree and say "why not? we are liverpool after all".

You can choose to live in the past where shankly pulls a rabbit of the hat by signing players from lower divisions and wins the league or accept the reality today that you need marquee players to win titles. That is why chelsea look like they are going to run away with the title. No team has won a title without any world class players in recent history.Even 2005 liverpool had gerrard. You can say 2004 porto but were they not managed by possibly the one of the top 3 greatest managers in modern football?

May I ask what is your expectation of this season?

For both BPL and also UCL.

Did you feel obliged to reply to me?
My post was aimed at certain lap dogs.

To answer your question top 4 and at least quarter finals for CL.

This is what happens when you raid swansea and southampton at the end of the day.Lesson for the idiot rodgers not to waste time and money on mediocre and midtable players.

Looks like everyone is in for hell against hull.
Lambert borini are plain rubbish.
Rodgers deserves all the stick he gets now for not getting a proper striker replacement.

Lallana will perform well in 2-3 games but he is not consistent enough to be labelled a top player.
Coutinho showed more intelligence.
This is why you need continental players rather than british players.I curse dalglish for instilling a british exclusive mentality within the club.

Liverpool never had an obsession with buying brits until he came along.I am pretty sure there are hands behind the scenes pressuring rodgers to keep the british identity. We all know who that person is.

I think a draw against hull is looking very likely considering the rubbish attack, defence and anfield support.

I predicted a 2-0 defeat to madrid but it was 3-0.So i wouldn't be shocked at a hull win either.

Of course I'm not comparing Xavi with Xavi as per tale of the tape. I was just sayin how stats can be biasely presented to cloud one's perception and judgement.

The dalglish die hards were constantly using downing's chances created stats to justify his price tag.
That itself should tell you how much footballing knowledge these people have.

As expected....Rodgers really needs a slap for buying balotelli.
Hundreds of other strikers out there.

Balotelli was the scapegoat until today. He was handed those chances on a plate.Coutinho gerrard sterling all gave fantastic delivery to him.

Balotelli looks closer to getting his first red card than first goal in the league.
The truth is majority of us didn't want balotelli. We all knew he was only worth more trouble and i said at the beginning that BR overestimated himself in thinking he can bring the best out of this idiot.
Seriously speaking,i think balotelli will be gone in january.

Koeman has champions league experience with benfica so no surprise that he is doing well here.
I think that their lack of quality will get found out sooner or later like west brom did when steve clarke first took over.

To put things into perspective, sod the carling cup tomorrow.Rest important players for the league against newcastle. If the 2nd string team can win then it's only a bonus.
If the club is to make it to the CL knockout stage i think rodgers needs to scrape a draw at the bernabeu and win at home to basel. Then a draw would be sufficient away to ludugorets. All in all at least 5 points.

Ah so typical.Newcastle getting into their best form just when they are about to face liverpool.

IMO it is quite crucial to go into the real madrid with a win against newcastle.

Defeat at bernabeu could possibly put rodgers under tremendous pressure.

Every player that comes into a big club has massive pressure and expectations on his shoulders.
The difference between a top player and a decent one is that the top player uses the pressure to drive himself while the decent player crumbles under the weight.

Doesn't take a genius to know which type liverpool has been buying all these years.

Even gerrard has said he would love a costa or fabregas.Unfortunately he has only gotten lambert and lallana.

I think carra deserves some credit because he had warned of repeating 2002 and 2009 mistakes even before the season started unlike all the other useless ex player pundits who praised rodgers to the heavens for doing a fantastic job in the transfer market but started bashing him as soon as the results were poor.
