any idea to make our ping better ? like below 150

i always die after taking shot and hide behind walls

my ping currently 200ms using unifi 10mbps, 3-4 month ago is around 170ms-180ms. I dont think there is way to reduce ping but i do know a way to increase your framerate(fps) without reducing your graphic setting. Open task manager, in process tab select planetside64.exe then right click set priority as High

u will see significant increase in framerate

my internet connection really bad now.
just turned me off when i want to have a proper gaming session.
i have no problem with playing on 250ms ping.
but my internet keep dcing.. my internet SNR down margin <15 is mostly the source of this i think.

owh its sukk maybe u shud contact ur isp helpdesk, calling for technician or something, this kind of unstable conn. issue usually hard to rectify

Try with US servers, I think you can get lower ping with US servers compared to AU. Besides, they have more population. Briggs is almost dead after the loginside period, a lot of players changed to US Connery. I migrated to EU Cobalt to play with popular PS2 Youtubers. There is a huge difference in strategy and gaming experience when playing in high pop servers. US peak time is at our daytime as time zone differs by about 12 hours, 9am to 1pm. EU peak time is about 11pm to 4am. Check out the link below to see which server suits your playtime and population.

Don't worry about the ping, it is expected from MMOFPS for us Malaysian, we have to live with it. But hey! Planetside 2 have ping compensate. Check the youtube below.

I have try both emerald and connery, all have higher ping but for connery their peak time is afternoon msia time which i my gametime are around 8pm -11pm msia where at that time connery are pretty much dead. But emerald are different, u will find good fight even late night msian time

i have one char on connery, but deleted my emerald one. Now my char slot full, i reckon i need to buy one char slot extra just for emerald as NC since briggs server smash practice force will now play on emerald

btw why u chose cobalt, isnt the ping there worst then connery or emerald? i know one popular youtuber/twitch from cobalt -gyllebmf, watch couple of his stream especially the serversmash match

Yes, I do admit I suffered some sort of lag from skill activation, such as Infiltrator cloak, or Heavy Assault shield. It takes about 0.4s to activate. My sort of play style is medium pace like tanks, harasser, and battle sundees. For infantry, I mostly play Light Assault, Medic, and Engineer, as I do not suffer a lot from the skill activation lag. The game has lag compensation and smoothing, so the enemy tanks and infantry still move smoothly for me to shoot them. Although, I recommend getting more than 5Mbps fibre optic connection for the massive upload/download when facing 100+ players battle. UL/DL speed can be a bottleneck in these situations. My play time is the same as yours and extend to 3am on weekends/public holiday eve. I should try Emerald once.

been out of town, just started to play yesterday after long leave one thing i notice hit registration is improve been better

previously it was so bad not remember since when, but it take me almost whole magazine just to kill a single infantry. Recently i started learn how to fly, im use to crash more than enemy kill me in the air haha im very bad with flying just started to get grip and learn to do A2G attack. I plan to buy rocket pod for A2G attack, im very new to esf

i also dont fly much. believe it or not, Briggs's frequent flyers are among the best on all servers. (they've been raping PREY/QRY in their server)
so if you're new pilot and want to farm ground, i found that the AI nosegun+A2A lockon yield much better farm per flying session compare to rocket pod.
it give better chance to ward off enemy flyer. or just use coyote for middle ground.

btw Briggs(AU) still give us the lowest ping compare to other servers.
and just notice that borderlinetactical (BTN) still can be use to get to those page.
we(RSNC) have part our way with BTN for some time now.

Briggs is nearly dead.

it's not really efficient but at least you can still deal damage to armored vehicles.
Not really, with the triple continent lock implemented on Briggs we still have fierce fight all over maps.
ball of zerg of 96+ will still meet another ball of zerg 96+.
but people like XinniX from NC that uproot and left Briggs while bringing along his band of followers are still hurting Briggs.
and now the said person back to play on Briggs, but it hard to say about the people that he brought out whether they also came back or not.
people that act like this will only make matter worse.

i cant really play on other server other than Briggs.
other servers will give me higher latency and higher frequency of spiking lag even in a 48+ vs 48+ fight while i still can play without much of a problem on Briggs with 96+ vs 96+.
my account got 6 slots so i have a char on all servers to test this myself.

this game nice? was thinking to try it since it's F2P

for me quite nice, one thing stand out from other fps is u practically can play with all ur friend in one squad/platoon without having to worry ur friend might be left out or auto-balance mode where ur friend will be in the opponent team especially when u have big outfit/clan. It will take a while to get use to the game mechanics, but when you fill lost, you can join a squad/outfit and ask around. Most players are very helpful. Learning curve for air is steep, but it is rewarding.

I had tried coyote, not really effective A2G, but it is a good way to bug some tanks/sundee with hit and run. Let them feel they are not untouchable. For A2A, it take some time to familiarize with the lead distance. It is a good sneaking up weapon, but when your opponent starts turning, noseguns are better. Just my experience.

It is not fair to blame people who migrated away like me. This is because of the effect of loginside2 and it happened in the span of 3 months+, and I am really frustrated as well. Although I still keep my Briggs SOCA TR, I played more on Cobalt. Will jump in this weekend to see how is things going. Is VS TROL still zerging? I heard their leader left them a while back and he is planning to play again, but this info is Jurassic era info.

i think you misunderstand my post.
if you read again you will notice that i said

i have no problem if people want to leave the server and play on other server.
but dont poison others to leave the server and then when the server population dwindled the same person said the server is dead even though he the one that lead to that.

No offence taken mate, just pointing out my reason for leaving Briggs.

I cannot comment how much damage it had done to the NC population and fighting strength as I mostly played TR in Briggs then. Briggs is a tight community after all, that is for sure as I had stick with an outfit that is active and well organised. Other players may had the same feeling with XinniX and simply left for another server. At one point, it is really a big annoyance when you have to wait 10 mins to login and the game simply crash halfway (before the stable 64-bit patch). It totally ruined the fun. SOE too had no immediate solution to this problem and it felt like they had abandoned AU Briggs then.

Maybe they like the larger crowds on other servers, like me.

Anyways, it is good that loginside is a thing in the past and let Briggs grow steadily again.

Round 3 server smash just finish, now the championship match will be cobalt vs emerald

cant wait to see briggs in action again haha.

Is it just me or is everyone in Malaysia using Unifi connecting to Briggs or Cobalt is having lag spike? I do not have this problem on Monday.

im on streamyx 4mb
apart from playing on 220ms latency.. everything else seem smooth.
dunno about cobalt though.

i gonna try play in ServerSmash this round.
but as the vid says.. it's an endurance match.
not too sure i can play or have free time for 2 hours straight.
and i heard that during serversmash there wont be any timeout/leisure time like we can have in normal game.
2 hours of serious war gonna make me weary and burnout fast.

no, i still play on briggs most of the time. But i do have tr toon though on R18 connery. I just join DENT for my VS alt, btw i play the SS just now subbing TOG member who not turn up. Its awesome Briggs won again!

yeah one of the most butt clenching serversmash ever up to the very last minute.
i thought that Briggs was doing well since my squad doing well at the north side around feyr amp.
dunno that we were struggling a bit at south around ymir bio.

btw i shared top place with an Emerald's player for most TK. (haha that some achievement from me)
really cant resist the temptation of grenade bandolier + sticky nades combo.

haha i tk alot too, but since i login like 30 minute into the game it was a hassle. It was due to 5cott giving me someone else account who already online and all the weapon/vehicle/max setup were not to my liking, i had to setup all those in a hassle. At one point i realize i dont carry medical kit and my max not fully certed for nanite auto repair

i am using 30mbps maxis fibre with public ip, i am getting around 300-3k ping, is there a fix? i haven't been playing this since a year ago, it wasn't laggy at all

dunno about fix.
what you can do is try playing in closest server to us that is Briggs (Australian based server)
i get around 220-250ms on 4mbps streamyx.
which faction are you in?

hmm my ping is around 210ms with unifi 10mbps, usually after updating the latest ps2 patch the ping issue fix itself. I believe u already download all the latest patch since u already play recently since the client would require download before playing.

I dont think there is fix for ping other than downloading the latest patch, not sure about your ISP or network device though

lol me and my friends decided to migrate to Cobalt. The ping's actually nearly the same compared to on Briggs except there are plenty more players there.

but i felt really helpless during the match getting platoon bomb whenever we're close to cap a territory.

spicy.jalapeno we dealing with it by embracing it hehe
this game rely a lot on clientside detection.
sure it's disadvantage to us when we trying to get to cover/dodge/use abilities/interact/get in/out of vehicles and so on..
but we can also use the delay to ambush the enemy or aligning our shot around the corner.

yeay we won again lol , this time also like last minute i join serversmash with DENT squad, while im playing on my VS alt on Briggs suddenly i've been call up they need a player. Funny i never thought we going to win it again since its 3 way smash it can go eitherway, at one point NC Miller were leading 35 with like 30 minute left then suddenly like 7-5minute left we were leading to 37% teritory, VS Briggs won

epic Briggs vs Miller server smash

Hi, I also play this game sometimes. I play NC on briggs server, do you guys know how to reduce the ping, mine is 200-300ms. I read some ppl said us server are better, but their ping are higher. can u recommend best server.

your ping same as mine, i use unifi 10mbps. US server the ping is higher and the pop is higher too. But i prefer briggs since i already familiar with the outfit and the people there plus my BR already high so i dont to start from scratch if i go there

i do sometimes play on emerald and connery but only if briggs is unstable, sometimes those US server unstable too so it depend. Usually after patch the game get unstable for at least a week or network ISP issue where US server get unplayable

I miss one of server smash because of that where the server smash server that is jaeger is in US east

I wish there's something we can do to reduce the ping. I literally shoot at the enemy head using shotgun, and they didn't die. when they kill me, their health still full. wtf.

so i take u shoot his head close enough because shotgun ineffective at range, but since i never use shotgun before so i dont know.

for shotgun there is an upgrade to use slug ammunition which can extend the range little bit(normal smg range) and at a cost u lose the the bullet bloom/spread u might want to try that in VR training room whether is good for ur gameplay

what happened with Briggs. our first defeat??

I watch it also, my opinion that our combine ops is getting weaker especially those sundy play. We use to be good at it but for some reason we didnt in this smash against emerald, we seems to resort to using only infantry play when attacking/defending a base plus not enough spawn option. I said to them in briggs ts that we pull more sundy against connery than against emerald today, we seems to lost touch on this because i know outfit like JUGA, RSNC are really good with combine ops style, those sundy play

i tried getting back into the game last week but since im on my laptop. graphical lag really turn me off la.
briggs give us the best ping. this game even with 300ms still very playable as long as it is stable.
it's more to tactical shooter compare to twitch reaction shooter like most other fps games.

or you can try connery server for round the clock good server population.

Dun care about graphics since I play at lowest (potato) setting

Ping is important since all the rubber banding was annoying the F out of me

Its so bad that I can only sit inside a gun emplacement and pew pew at the passing enemy (not moving=less data update). Sniping it a no-no for me forever
