Hi,

I think I read somewhere that we can make use of balance transfer to get some cash, but how?

Says balance transfer from card A to card B, so card B will have some extra cash then call bank B request to refund, bank B will issue us a cheque?

This sound like too good to be true especially for those 0% balance transfer promo rclxms.gif that mean can use this way to get extra cash and dump into loan account?

My balance transfer was approved and the fund sitting at my Maybank credit card account now. Called MBB the officer said max 10k can be done via the phone, asked me to email for amount more than 10k and ask me state the reason for the surplus and subject to approval.

Is there any reason they can reject my application?

Can sifus share your experience about which bank provide better service in term of below:
1. Can transfer to other bank (Maybank said only can transfer to Maybank Saving)
2. Processing time (Maybank said takes 8 working days)
3. Limit to be done via phone? (Maybank 10k)
4. Must provide reason? (Maybank asked for it)

Is this only Maybank? Look like I am choosing the wrong card to transfer to sad.gif

wow 8 working days for mbb?

i know the branch manager personally. of course walk in to his office

reason i gave 'balance transfer overpay' from Aeon Credit so he fill up the forms for me and no questions been asked from HQ processing centre.. i did not see what is the form for..

Let see how soon MBB does it. Hopefully much faster than what they said.
I don't have RHB card, wanted to know more about others experience and decide best card to receive next balance transfer.

Anyone experience late transfer with Maybank?

Maybank transfer excess amount to saving account required 2 weeks compare to 3-5 days last year.
*
I made the request on 2/2/2016 and only saw the excess fund in my saving account this morning (I did check last Friday/Saturday online but didn't see it though) but the transaction date shown 12/2/2016. So it's within the 8 working days timeframe that MBB mentioned.

I think better try other banks for any new BT-er, and for those BT-sifu would be grateful if you could share your experiences on the efficiency of excess fund transfer for other banks notworthy.gif

I made BT application from cimb to bsn cc.
1st FEB - Sent via courier and they received on the next day.
6th FEB - Received call from BSN for verification. Told me will be processed 7-10 days.
16th FEB (Today) - I logged into cimbclicks and the BT has been credited.

Just fyi if anyone would like to do BT to BSN cc.

Thanks for sharing. This is quite long but maybe due to festival season. So far my records for both BT for receiving banks Aeon and PBB only took 5 working days. Only the excess fund transfer from credit card to saving account seems slow.

BT to AmBank, 12 months, 0% interest for new to bank customer under the Rewards for Everyone Programme.

Chronology,
10/2 - Called AmBank CS to apply through phone call
16/2 - Received a verification call
17/2 - Payments posted on HLB and SCB
18/2 - Payment posted on AEON

Initially, CS said there is no BT 0% interest tagged under my card. Told her about the current Rewards for Everyone Programme, then only she said I am eligible after checking the tnc.

Just phone call without filling up any form?
And do you need to send them credit card statement?

Anyone knows whether BT will appear in our CCRIS? If yes is the full repayment being considered as our monthly commitment thus contribute bad credit score?

My new credit card application was rejected recently which i suspect due to this BT. Something i unexpected.

Yes, it will appear in CCRIS.

If you pay every month, then it will be zero, so your record will be nice. However, the outstanding amount of your BT will be captured there.

I see. Just outstanding balance like if I have spent that amount for that particular month? Or some unsettle outstanding? The latter surely has bad score sad.gif
