Based on my understanding and experience, the max available BT is always based on YOUR Credit Limit, not available credit balance.

If CL = 12k, your max amount for BT is always 80% of 12k which is 9.6k.
If you have spend 5k previously, your new BT balance would be 4.6k (9.6k - 5k).

Nevertheless, nowadays seems that banks did not follow that exactly. Even TnC mention max 80% of CL for BT, i still available to get more than 80%.

that's what PBB and MBB told me 1 or 2 years back for my method of calculation

maybe they have changed it

what's the problem with 5k for 0%?
if you worry you don't have so much cc debt to be paid with 5k, just overpay it to mbb and cash out the balance. lol...
*
not that lah. if your monthly cc expenses is 1k, then no point already right?

I only tried once and upon request.
My reason was legit, the payment from Aeon to MBB wasn't done yet but it is already due date. So I paid and two days after that MBB received fund from Aeon. So it has become an overpayment. I called CS to get it transferred back.
It is normal for them that they can only transfer the amount after deducting your unbilled transactions but I did ask the CS to help to transfer the full amount as the due date is still long way to go. She didn't guarantee but she said will try. 3 days later I got the full amount.

Based on the feedback here some received full while some receive after deducting unbilled transaction. smile.gif

your transaction is ok since you paid earlier and not wanting to wait for BT money to be in

but if every month over pay 5k although you owe only 1k, that is kinda extreme

maybe banks will shut off BT because of this. haha

just called to maybank customer service, they have already approved my BT application, and the cheque will be deposit by either today or next monday.

just curious that they never call or sms me about the status, it is totally different with Aeon.

the maybank cso told me that if i never saw the cheque clearance in my Aeon account, then need to call Aeon and check wor.  hmm.gif

normally they send snail mail

tough to be using a 'common' swipe card to BT, and MBB 12 months really hold up the CL too long.
*
you mean 12 months BT too long?

then just overpay every month so you have debit icon_rolleyes.gif

For pbb it is reported no statement needed.
So just transfer 5k and withdraw excess and put into flexi FD.

But the disadvantage is every month you need to pay RM 833.33
*
better don't over do it or else will go the path of aeon yawn.gif

Yes, for me watami still worth it for 3% sake to cover my insurance premium payment & occasionally petrol & other CB promo.
So consider every 6 months 0% BT with points a bonus then.
*
you need to spend 3k per quarter to qualify for that, right?

I am sorry if this is a repeated question, but I will try to ask all about BT in 1 post.

I am interested in this free phone offering, and is aiming for the Asus zenfone 5. Right now I am not the primary card holder of any banks, only supplementary for CIMB.

In order to get this, I will have to:
1. Apply for PB Credit card.

2. This is where i am vague. Is it if I have an outstanding debt of RM5000 in my CIMB card, only then i can BT to my new PB cc? Or do I need a debt of RM6250, so 80% of it is RM5000?

3. Approved BT of 36month plan at 8% p/a. So the calculations for this is (RM5000*0.08*3 = RM1200)? Is this RM1200 the interest that i have to pay to the bank within 3 years?

4. If lets say after I BT RM5000 to PB, and then I clear my debt within 1 month, do I still get the phone?

5. Will there be an early termination fee/additional interest if I settled it before the 36-month plan?
Hope that I made myself clear to understand.

i suggest you call the bank directly. you will get an accurate and fast reply

normally for such kind of free gift offer, you can save more money taking their 0% BT and use the extra cash you save by not paying 8% PA for 3 years to buy the hp
