Probably most of you already aware already. One thing to note is that games are now cheaper. Most 4.99USD games are now RM10.00 (average). Probably save your money for this holiday season discount.

Their pricing isn't consistent.
Borderland 2 GOTY is expensive. Steam shows RM176 but USD is only RM128. But normal edition is RM38 which is cheaper. Season pass is cheaper, RM56. Err... weird. =\ |

i think that the pricing is based on publishers/local distributors agreed price. I see a lot of DLCs at full price, but the main game is cheaper. I know currently COH2 had 50% off DLC sales, but MY shows at full pricetag. I m starting to hate this change, it might end up like PSN

I know it's a psychological thing, but am I the only one who's more discouraged buying Steam games now looking at their true value post-conversion? Games that previously sell at $60 for example may now retail at a whooping RM190, and the lowest dollar prices still set you at around RM5; budget games previously under $10 and $5 tags are now under the RM30 and RM15 tags, hefty sums by my standards. When I'm buying in USD there was the illusion that I bought for less (nevertheless I still calculated the exchange value everytime I made a purchase), and the pain of knowing you're spending in an inferior currency was less apparent.
I want out of this. Anything, even a Steam mod to locally convert to prices to the market USD value, is better than being reminded in your face that the ringgit's a shitty undervalued currency. Otherwise, I'm not tempted to buy anything now. These prices just look too high. This post has been edited by Parrot: Sep 21 2014, 12:28 AM |

Parrot, that's what I thought at first too.. but have you even seen the new prices?
Civ: Beyond Earth is a $50.00 game that is only selling for RM95.. Most games are wayy cheaper now in ringgit.. If it makes you happy, what you can do is convert the RM to USD in your head... for example, convert RM95 to 30 USD and you will be "omg! i just got a 40% discount!" |

I've been waiting for that to happen, but I also failed to take into account how expensive it'll still have to be anyway to make a profit.Civ: Beyond Earth is a $50.00 game that is only selling for RM95.. Hokay, but I wasn't as bothered by the reduction of the pricing as much as how it's even more discouraging to buy anything now because they're now upfront about how even the cheapest games are as pricey as your daily eating/traveling/utility expenses and loan installments. And since original video games are essentially a luxury, what is the point of wasting my hard-earned money now when I know exactly how much I could be wasting on games I may or may not end up liking? Hell, I can't afford better Internet anyway, so what's the point of buying (or pirating) these games in the first place when I have to spend days, even weeks, to download before I can play?some people just wanna complain, just let them be lor. for me, i'll wait for winter sales before i buy anything. and hopefully gst no kacau us. All I wanted is an option on Steam to recalculate the RM prices in other currencies so I'm not immediately deterred by how expensive they still are, and I'll be content enough to move on. I don't complain for the mere sake of complaining. This post has been edited by Parrot: Sep 24 2014, 04:31 PM |

Most games cheaper, but some are not. Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity going for RM201, while GMG has them for USD60 each. Include their current ongoing 25% discount and it's definitely cheaper. Both are Ubisoft games though, so maybe they have their own pricing preference. Overall games look cheaper but I will still watch out and do price comparisons.

Hey guys just checking, just today I checked and realised that games that previously had this notice "Purchases made in Malaysia can only be added to your library if you are in Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia." no longer have them anymore (e.g.: Wasteland 2, Divinity Original Sin and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Revolution"). Can you guys verify to see if this is true or it's just me experiencing it? I searched around and can't find any Steam announcement regarding this change. Thanks!
P.S. : Sorry if this is off-topic! EDIT: I moved this query to the Steam FAQ thread, so can a mod please delete this post? Thanks! This post has been edited by Shaderiko: Sep 28 2014, 12:53 AM |

Sois due to complaints by retailers that can't compete with digital sales? Can I say f those retailers? Damn f you asked me. This is digital and it's more expensive than retail. Their complain won't change a thing. It's only making more people wait for sales
