It has always been like that. Only the top-tier cards would be something new.

Like HD 7790 to R7 260X, the only difference is R7 260X has TrueAudio and consumes a little more power.

When you introduce a whole new line-up at once, there's bound to be old stuff being renamed.

Nvidia's done that before as well, renamed / rebadged like silly before.

390x alone is cost near to RM2k, which should be rivaling 980 instead.

AMD has done it twice in a row for the new 370 so it is a straight rebadge of a rebadge. My point is that the mid-low end segment is old, either a rebadge or a minor tweak from the 7 series chips, so it is a half or full generation behind Nvidia.

After looking at the released specs the 370 has much lower power requirements - 110W. That is strange considering that its still a pitcairn chip with slightly higher clocks than the original 7850.

290X will be going dirt cheap now, maybe you can go for those.

I'll be testing the 3 series soon against a GTX 980.

Yes, you're on 7950 now, going to 290x / 390x would be quite a jump.

390x should provide better power draw per performance.

Sapphire R9 Fury X 4GB RM2999 - updated
Sapphire R9 390X 8GB DDR5 RM1899
Sapphire Nitro R9 390 8GB DDR5 RM1439
Sapphire Nitro R9 380 4GB DDR5 RM1039
Sapphire R9 380 2GB DDR5 RM899
Sapphire Nitro R7 370 4GB DDR5 RM799
Sapphire R7 370 2GB DDR5 RM699
Sapphire R7 360 2GB DDR5 RM509

Yeah prices look fixed as in cartel price fixed.

The 360 has a msrp of USD110 should be around RM434 incl gst. 370 (msrp USD150) should be RM591 incl gst.
