QUOTE(Thrust @ Feb 13 2016, 03:01 PM) It's sad to see AMD is discontinuing their driver support for the older HD series graphics cards. I pity the adopters for HD 8000 series users. These cards were just released in 2013 & now AMD ends their driver support for these cards. Seems pretty unfair to me. Sry? Got source for that? |

QUOTE(jamilselamat @ Mar 15 2016, 09:44 PM) I know in advance that HBM2 won't make it into the card within my price range for Polaris. That's why I expected at least GDDR5X. But it seems Polaris might not even include that. Seems we're still stuck on DDR5 this year, and possibly next year too because it seems like Vega is reserved for ultra-high end. Did they confirmed there will be no GDDR5X in upcoming Polaris? There's still HBM1 imo.Nowadays it seems to be more about playing within 'price brackets'. Fuck cost/profit ratio; it's now just about baiting people into feeling desperate and paying as much as they can for as little as you need to provide. And here I thought AMD is less of an asshole than NVIDIA, but I guess I should've realized that long ago when NVIDIA beat AMD to the 'price:performance ratio' corporate game AMD was playing against consumers when GTX 970 came out. I guess I'm partly to blame for building up all these expectations for your company, but can you blame me after hyping up all these shiny new technologies in the past few months? And now that the announcement has been made, it felt like I was being played like a fiddle. And to add salt to my injury, a sandwiched-together Fury X being sold for 1.5kUSD? I was laughing in disgust. 'creation and consumption' card my ass. I am severely disappointed by AMD this year. Another chance at getting a significant increase in performance yet ruined by 'price:performance brackets' game and only providing very small increase. Yeah, I'll probably forget about all this tomorrow morning when I calmed down and can think more rationally, but I'll probably stick with NVIDIA again out of spite. DX12? 14nm die shrink that only brings power savings to the table which NVIDIA has done 2 gens ago? Your company expects us to still care about that when NVIDIA still manage to come up with wares that still perform more stable and with less driver hassle? Looks like I need to forget about Polaris already and remain with Pascal. At least I already know I'll get conned one way or another. 970? Didn't it get overprice here with inferior hardware compare to AMD offering? Powersaving by cutting corners you mean? Removing compute power in Maxwell and Kepler which is important in the future gaming with the new APIs to improve rendering technique and performance. Pascal is simply Maxwell v2 with compute power and HBM imo. |

QUOTE(Gregyong @ May 28 2016, 06:43 AM) Sorry kentang emas, AMD doesn't have a desktop grid software as far as i know, unlike Nvidia which still has it Hydragrid or HydraVision? First time heard about Hydragrid. D:AMD used to have a similar hydragrid software that they quietly dropped a while back when CCC was still being used, although you could still install older versions of hydragrid onto the latest CCC, AMD finally dropped it completely with Crimson. ![]() |

QUOTE(Gregyong @ May 28 2016, 10:55 AM) tell me how to make it work? No idea, never use it since 2010. Previously, I was able to get Hydravision for older versions of CCC to work on the latest version of CCC. Now that I've switched to crimson, I can't get Hydravision to work, unless you're suggesting that I have both CCC and Crimson installed. Y can have both CCC and Radeon Setting installed. |

Don't know if i should go for 7700k compare to 1700x for gaming. 7700k is much faster per core.
Mainboard price is similar for both platform. |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Feb 23 2017, 04:31 PM) I think if pure gaming, 7700K will win, since Ryzen single core performance are on Broadwell level. I still aim Ryzen because it has more core count, which will be useful for photo processing, and hopes more and more games will be optimize for more than quad core. Sry i meant 1700 but yeah, gaming is my priority so i think Kabylake strong core performance will benefit more unless many games will start scaling over 8 cores. |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Feb 28 2017, 06:57 AM) My bad, saw the news from below. Pretty sure that is done with a hefty overclock and probably with water cooling if not better solution. If Ryzen beat Kaby in single threaded with slight overclock we probably see AMD slide about that. http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-1700x-6950...cpu-benchmarks/ 7700k at 5.2 get 2.5k+ single threaded score. |
