Just joined the budget ryzen 2200g gang today! biggrin.gif So far very happy with performance of it ^^ I'm the sort that willing to game at 720p for higher fps haha. But something weird so far have been happening and can't really pin point the issue not sure its me.
On fb or websites sometimes it shows blackscreen for a second and then suddenly goes well again.
And on startup, I can't see the Bios screen, it only shows up when the windows is loading.
Connecting via VGA tho.

Hehe, I was from Sandy Bridge to Ryzen also, 1700 though. Mine still lying there, but I was able to downclock, shut cores, lower voltage and planning to use it fro NAS in future.

Still using FX8350. Wonder if i jump to 2600 do i really see a big significant different on performance? Does 2600 use more power consumption than 8350? 5%gaming, 25%browsing 70% (video editing + photo editing and rendering)

Core performance should jump significantly, power consumption sure huge difference ( isnt AMD FX known for hot and power hungry biggrin.gif )
Pretty sure FX8350 still powerful for nowadays usage ( photog friend still rocking it for photo edit ), but Ryzen 7 sure are recommended rclxms.gif ( except some weird issue where some application simply cant run on Ryzen system )

Massive performance boost. The IPC (Instructions Per Clock) alone at least 60% more for single thread.

Ignore the 1500X. 1600 price difference isnt big.

I think they are at similar performance level ( Ryzen should be faster in workload ) but i5 much expensive.

Guys, no need think so much.

Download Cinebench R15 and compare your score to that of any Ryzen. smile.gif

FX-8350 is below 700 points, Ryzen 7 2600X is around 1.7k points.

Not really. Ryzen 7 2700X at RM1470 is MSRP. Intel CPU prices are going up.

Actually more like, are your DDR4 ram capable ( or stable enough ) of OC to 2666, almost all mobo can support quite high frequency RAM.

For RAM, if now I buy/build a new PC, I want 16GB ram, I should go 1 stick of 16gb or 2stick of 8gb?
Normally should go for 2x8GB right?
But let say after 2years if I want to upgrade to 32GB of ram if now I go 1 stick 16gb, 2 years later I just add another 16gb but if now is 2x8gb, 2 years I have to go 2x8gb or rebuy whole 2x16gb to make it 32gb. Plus after 2 years dunno can get exactly same 16GB of ram or not?

2x 8GB.

Do you even need 32GB? smile.gif

What do you run with your PC? AMD systems work better with faster RAM.

I think fast 2x8GB DDR4 more preferable ( for me ). You install 64GB ram play game also wont be faster than 16GB.
If dont multitasking or have many program in background, 8GB also almost enough to run most games.
Un-used memory is useless memory biggrin.gif

I mean now is 16GB, but after 2 years maybe need 32GB so now should go (a)2x8GB or (b)1x16GB first then later 2 year go with another (a)2x8GB or add (b)1x16GB
