most common = Red Tilapia / Tilapia Merah / Fei Chou Yu (Kam Foong Yu / Hong Fei Chou)..
taste n texture depends on pond of origin.. mostly soft n sweet..
Best Freshwater fish = Tapah / Giant Catfish / Lim Yu
taste n texture = heavenly

Best Saltwater fish = this depends.. ayam favourite Big size Threadfin / Senangin not Kurau / Ma You..
taste n texture = flaky chewable meat with some distinguishable Ma You taste that oni it has..

Cooking method for all = Steam / Stim / Ching Jing....

Price = depends on where u eat...

the place i lunch almost every single day got a lot of ikan dishes.
like ikan merah, ikan patin, ikan pari and other big fishes and obviously i dont know fishes that well to name them lol
small ones like keli or kembung also hv but i prefer large ones.

Normal what eating arowana nowadays, my friends family at his kampung at semanggol bukit merah some peple eat arowana coz the demand to sell it as pet is too low and the production of arowana is higher than demand.

if you like fried fish... i intro you ma yau... very sweet....
my fav place to eat ma yau is dengkil... lat chiu ma yau... good stuff.....

Fried fish I only go for fillets, most places dunno how to fry, all very dry.

The wild ones are larger, they catch from dengkil, tanjung tualang but dont buy if they say it is caught from lake titiwangsa.
