As long the brand is ASUS and Intel. You pay premium price and get good stable drivers.

TP Link, D Link, Aztech etc are all rubbish products, not recommended if you stream video, play online or 24/7 heavy download, these brand's product disconnect very very frequently.

Many thanks. ASUS it is.

Fking peesashit TP link. The youtube thing has happened very frequently lol. Not only during this period with the damaged undersea cables.

I often have to restart the router to get it streaming HD again smoothly. But then could it also be the router? using the stock Dlink dir-615. anyways will get a new wireless adapter first and see how it goes from there.

Cisco and Asus r recommended if u r a hig end user, the both brands can support high traffic. Dlink is ok, juz that which model u use. D dlink given by Unifi can only support casual Surfers only. It will freeze itself when too high traffic passinh through...

Yeah well there are at least 3 high traffic users in the house i live in. Always streaming shows/ gaming online etc.

I suppose i'll get a new router too soon, hope setting up etc won't be a pain. Shouldn't expect to face compatibility issues with the BTU or whatever la right?

get an asus. they come with unifi ready firmware.
low end asus like n12 or n13 also will do already. great qos engine, good drivers and hardware

is it worth it if i want to up the ante just because i'm under the delusion that the more expensive product performs better?
talking about getting maybe a USB-N53

or get the AC53 lol

always use channel 1 / 6 / 11

change to 20mhz and stick to wireless g

sometimes disconnection happens when wireless n drop to g and vice versa

but the downside is can only max 54mbps over wifi

but since the internet speed in malaysia is  whistling.gif

unless u need to stream contents from your PC to TV and vice versa

thanks. yeah i did come across that 1/6/11 thing earlier. it's on 6 now.
oh I set it to only wireless n, will try to change it to g if I experience issues.
