I keep overriding the home webpage to https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl but occasionally Google will still redirect me to Google.com.my with it's localized search. I don't want to have Google suggesting me for Resepi Ayam! mad.gif

I'm using Firefox and Chrome with Windows 7 if that matters. Thanks in advance. thumbup.gif

he's already using the "ncr" trick. what made you think that would work?

1. go to : https://www.google.com/preferences#languages

2. go crazy

Where do I go from here? I still want English suggestions, but I don't want them localized. This is seroiously an annoying feature.

Thanks to the both of you. biggrin.gif

Thanks everyone, but none of these solutions are working for me. No matter what I do, the homepage will always be Google Malaysia and suggest to me localized results. I rally don't want to see "Artis tempatan" when I'm searching for "art". mad.gif

Even if I set to Google.com, it will always revert back to Google Malaysia as soon as I close the tabs.

Try this:
Settings>search engine>add new search engine>paste this code>make it as default

{google:baseURL}search?q=%s&{google:RLZ}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:assistedQueryStats}{google:searchFieldtrialParameter}{google:bookmarkBarPinned}{google:searchClient}{google:sourceId}{google:instantExtendedEnabledParameter}{google:omniboxStartMarginParameter}{google:contextualSearchVersion}ie={inputEncoding}

This is for Chrome. Should be able to solve your issue.

Could be a DNS issue, try using google dns, ipconfig /flushdns, clear cache or private session. It sure works for me.

I use both chrome & firefox, but favor on chrome so totally didnt notice firefox have the .com.my problem after I fixed it on chrome.

so far, to stay on google.com using firefox , that would be everytime you open firefox browser, just use the " /nvr " trick, and dont close the browser,

it will stay at google.com as long as you didnt close the browser, (even if you close, just type the /ncr on the http link again, everything will be staying as "english", haha

Go to www.google.com
It will automatically reroute you to www.google.com.my
Look bottom right, select "USE GOOGLE.COM".

Yes you have to do this every time unless you leave your browser open permanently smile.gif

Either that or refer to the previous reply about using SSL.
