After Lifetime channel preview ends on 31 Jan 2017, you will need to subscribe to both Variety pack and HD service to watch the channel.

Wonder which SD channel would astro upgrade next to HD

Astro should abolish HD service fee. Still want charge expensive for little best original HD channel. More than 20 HD channel are Astro in-house
Look at TM HyppTV can purchase one channel and not charge HD fee. But yeah now TM want more money by bundle UniFi with HyppTV pack
Both Astro and TM just want money only. Astro should give more original HD channel than their in-house boring channel instead

And please move to MPEG4 for better viewing experience rather than crappy SD channel with MPEG2
Astro OD most SD content i check just like their using MPEG4 for most SD channel on OD. And i a bit surprise by Disney Junior on Demand HD
Atleast give la one or two HD channel on Kids Pack. Kids Pack still don't have HD channel. Please give Cartoon Network HD. I wait more than 4 years but still don't add that channel
Maybe if Astro want to offer OD their should move atleast SD 16:9 MPEG4 picture quality for better viewing.

Astro should focus on offering more HD channel than on-demand service. Not all Astro TV subscribers have Wi-Fi at home. Subcribe Astro but want to watch Arrow also don't have. Only TV3 show that on tv. Please la Astro give us WarnerTV HD. I want to watch new Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and other
Just feel tak guna with Astro. Want to offer OD but Astro not offer unlimited internet to access OD

I hope Astro don't just focus on new OD service that need Wi-Fi at home to use. Astro should thinking customers in kampung area that don't have internet. Thats why them subscribe Astro! For what? TV channel!! Not OD with need Wi-Fi!

Maybe, all terrestrial TV channels in SD will upgrade to HD.

Warner TV HD is only available on HyppTV with a contract.

I don't think it would happen anytime soon

Wonder if Hypp TV sign exclusive agreement with Warner TV
Which also means no others providers can broadcast that channel

i agree with u, it is not easy to make all free channel to HD , they didnt get any benefit from it also

well astro actually doing "social service" now by broadcasting those FTA channels..

some rural places previously hard to get those channel. so most subscribe to astro..
but now have Njoi.. same purpose.. I remember seeing got some politician gave out free TV & Njoi STB to some kampong people. saw on prime time news

It is technically possible. But still, it still depends whether the broadcaster (RTM or Media Prima) wants to provide their channel in HD quality or not. Because the broadcasters have to pay more money to MYTV Broadcasting to broadcast their channels in HD quality compared to SD quality.

I think fta channel better stick with SD quality rather to pay more for just HD...

Just a friendly reminder.most likely Tv3HD will soon be ala carte,rumours are that they are unable to pay huge carriage fees to asstro

whats abt hypptv and mytv? who will subscribe if astro make it as ala carte channel. not worth also
