Ass-tro intentionally did not remove the "extra RM 8 for the Metro Pack" that you cancelled hoping that you didn't notice and get to blood suck more from you. Actually Ass-tro employs MANY inefficient, stupid, under-qualified staff that give an extremely BAD service to subscribers!!

I know because many of my friends and myself faced BAD subscription account management from those idiots.

If you don't mind reading my long stories, then read on...

Since year 2001, I was offered a second decoder for only RM 38 per month which allows me to watch on this decoder all the channels that the first decoder subscribed.

Then, suddenly... around 2004, when more new channels were added, this second decoder cannot watch the "newly launched channels at that time" eventhough the first decoder subscribed can watch. I called Ass-tro Support asking why and they informed me that the "special price" covers only existing channels that was subscribed when I received the second decoder. I need to pay extra at normal Package price for this second decoder. Of course I didn't want... BUT... suddenly the bill for that month came with a bill of RM 50 (not RM 38) stating "Multi-Room price"... what the hell... I called them again and confirmed that they made a mistake and they would correct it for the next bill.

I subscribed to individual packs (not Super Pack 3) since 2000, and in 2004, I added Sports Pack to watch the Olympic Games 2004. After the Games ended, I cancelled the Sports Pack two months later. Then I was charged "RM 10" as "disconnection charges". INCREDIBLE ! Qash-M... you are lucky that Ass-tro don't charge you RM 10 for reducing your packs. I called them and they confirmed there are such charges for reduction of packs, no charges to increase of packs! And again my second decoder was charged the FULL same amount as the first decoder!! I called and they corrected it the next month.

I converted to Superpack 3 in 2006. Then, around 2008, I reduced the Super Pack 3 package by cancelling the Kid Pack which is RM 5. At that time, Superpack 3 includes three Mini Packs and I took all the 4 Mini packs so now I cancelled one. I called at the end of the month and I clearly told them to stop this Kid Pack starting from the 1st of next month. All the Kids Pack channels were blocked on time the next month. Damn... the next month bill... still show the RM 5 added in AND my second decoder was not charged at RM 38... charged at FULL Superpack price. Instead of being billed at the correct RM 155.00, I was charged this wrong amount ... RM160+RM160 = RM 320 !!! I called them again and confirmed that they made a mistake again.

Then in 2010, I added a third decoder under "Multi-Room" price of RM 50. Then... suddenly the next month bill charged me RM 155.00 + RM 50 + RM 50. My second decoder is RM 38, NOT RM 50. I called and they apologized for the mistake and will change it the next month.

In early 2011, I terminated the second decoder (RM 38) and preserving the third decoder (RM 50) to still watch all the channels the same as the first decoder... Then the bill charges stated... RM 155 + RM 155 !! The second decoder RM 38 was removed BUT my third decoder ended up being charges the FULL amount! The worst thing is that some channels for third decoder was locked out because they thought its the RM 38 decoder!! I called and then they confirmed and corrected the mistake.

Again, and again, and again, and again... Ass-tro constantly made serious mistakes. I am totally surprised at myself that I am able to bear such frustration for all these years... I really could have terminated everything if not because of my relatives.

The people at Ass-tro are not "so-hai", in fact they are super smart stupid idiots !! They make me feel really "so-hai" to continue my subscription with them. If anyone here says that I am so stupid... I totally agree.

And... just like all BIG companies phone answering service... "Tekan 1 untuk Bahasa Melayu"... Press 2 for English"... blah, blah, blah.... I have to suffer waiting more than half an hour to get someone to answer !!

My advice... if you don't want to suffer like me and also be as stupid as me... try your best to do whatever you can to reduce your packages or totally terminate your subscription... totally boycotting Ass-tro is the best alternative in protecting consumers benefit. I will reduce downgrade my package further to remove the Sports Pack totally after both the Euro Cup and Olympic Games ended at the end of August 2016. Seriously... considering reducing even further until basic packs... and if my breaking point is reached, then may fully terminate and change to free NJOI channels.

Just curious what does astro puts up after a channel has been dropped or ceased.

Starhub can lie and claim a channel has ceased but in fact, it is still on-air. They refused to let ppl know that it is them who have dropped the Ch.

I don't think they will create new pack like that. Ass-tro will always play smart.

I believe this is what they MAY do...

Korea Pack channels ... Oh!K HD, Channel M HD ... add RM 10.60

NEW "Korea Golden Pack" channels... Arirang, Channel M HD, One HD and NHK ... add RM 10.60

Ass-tro may also add a new "Korea Bundle Pack" (Korea Pack + Korea Golden Pack) ... add RM 19.00

SO....

if you already have Korea Pack RM 10.60 and want to change to "Korea Bundle Pack"... they make it look as though its cheaper by RM 2.20... BUT the RM 19.00 that you pay is actually for THREE channels because One HD and NHK are already included in the basic "Starter Pack" !! So Ass-tro wins and you lose.

They make the "new" Korea Golden Pack look as though got FOUR GREAT Korean channels by repeat adding in One HD and NHK !!!

If you just want to remain subscribing to Korea Pack.... you don't get Arirang. If you want to stop Korea Pack and get the new "Korea Golden Pack", you don't get Oh!K HD.

People who already subscribed to Korea Pack and want to get the "Korea Bundle Pack".. they are actually paying RM 8.40 for only just ONE extra channel (Arirang channel). So Ass-tro wins and you lose.


Okay... this did NOT happen yet but I believe that's the way Ass-tro will do to suck us.

Enough of that.

Ass-tro employs many smart accountants and professionals that are always able to find different ways to peel the skin of subscribers until we bleed.

JADE PACK

Just look at the newly launched "Jade Pack" which on the surface looks delicious with SEVEN channels included. After looking at the channels, everyone will know that Ass-tro treats us as stupid fools !! TVBS Asia, TVBE and TVB Xing He ARE repeated and already included in other Packs so actually we only get THREE additional channels.

Asian Action Channel is 95% actually old TVB Dramas that are already shown or will be shown in TVB Xing He!! And Classic Movies is "yea" actually my grandparents time Hong Kong movies from 1940 to 1980.... in Black and White. Actually, for the Cantonese Chinese many of these movies are classic greats that I love... so its okay if I watch for free because its dirt cheap to broadcast on TV BUT NO NO.. I am NOT going to pay to watch such films. Its the same thing for the classic malay films starring P. Ramlee and Jins Shamsuddin, Saadiah... and I loved many of them... BUT I am not going to pay to watch them lah ! Its so cheap that even TV3 can easily get sponsors to broadcast them so I will definitely watch in TV3 but not pay to watch in Ass-tro.

Now... the only channel left in Jade Pack is the "TVB Jade HD" channel... and you won't get ALL the same programs as shown in Hong Kong ! TVB will just recycle some other repeat shows here. The worst thing here is that the Prime Time slot in the evening from 8 pm to 10 pm have TVB Drama Series that are already repeated in AOD channels !!

Pay RM 53.00 just for one "maybe good" TVB Jade channel? No... I will only subscribe IF I am very stupid.

My hard earned money is better spent on cinema tickets eventhough its more expensive for only 1 movie BUT its worth it, also no annoying advertising breaks inbetween. I am willing to pay. I do already understand the reason why they cannot get rid of piracy because honest consumers are treated as @#$%~* (sh*t) I self censor

Who knows? ASSP HD Plus Ch 808 maybe put into new Sports mini pack called Sport HD Plus Plus at "only" RM 9.99 so NOT available for existing Sports Pack or SuperPack subscribers... again have to pay extra !!!

What I do know is ACTUALLY happening for Ass-tro now... No more "new" channels, only more new PACKS for new channels that subscribers continue to pay more and more IF want to watch those new packs that contain the new channels !!

Stop subscribing to any further "new packs" so please spread this info to your friends. Subscribers will NOT get anymore "new channels" added to the existing packs that they subscribed.

What existing subscribers NEED to do, is choose at least one below...

1) Do NOT subscribe to any so-called "new packs" which are all junk or rubbish channels at expensive prices.

2) Subscribers reduce their existing packs as many as possible and pay much less because of the low value channels with an average 80% constant repeats. Example.. History HD channel 575 is almost a dead channel with around 95% repeats!!

3) The BEST way to force Ass-tro satellite TV service to shut down is to completely terminate the subscription. Not possible to happen as not everyone will terminate completely. At least if you are very very dissatisfied, do try to completely terminate. Bit by bit as time goes by, more and more existing subscribers will become very unsatisfied by Ass-tro degrading its content continually with added new Pack prices so I do hope more and more subscribers will just quit completely.

Being one of the pioneer subscribers since December 1996, I have already chosen to act on (1) and (2)... and I don't know how long I can "tahan" not to choose number (3).

The good news is...

* Ass-tro won't be increasing prices for existing packs.
* More new packs added, with new bad channels mixed with channels from other packs which need to pay MORE.

... wait a minute !! Isn't paying more for new additional packs the same as... "getting more new channels for existing packs + price increase" ??

At least subscribers don't have to suffer price increase so we have to be satisfied with the same number of channels forever and we are given the option to pay pay pay more for "new packs" !!

THAT, is a tactic Ass-tro have continually been giving us. Ass-tro stopped increasing prices so no more new additional channels. New additional channels are put into new packs that need to may more. Then, to avoid price increase for the existing channels, reduce the cost of "content price increase" by increasing to more very old and outdated programs and more and more repeats.

If anyone of you are thinking of becoming a new Ass-tro subscriber, you better think it over seriously... once you are bitten by Count Dracula, you will continue to be suck dry of all blood !! I know that its a lousy alternative, better pay a one time "expensive" amount for NJOI decoder, dish and installation... no more monthly blood donation and at least can get to watch 2 HD channels, GoAsean HD Channel 737 and Go Shop 2 Channel 318.

Oh, MTV Asia is still letter-boxed on astro? StarHub used to offer the channel here in same letter box format as astro .... but now they changed it to SD 16:9 wide-screen format .... Channel [V] is still SD on Starhub, and they are dropping both [V] & Nat Geo Music (SD) end Jun to cut cost.

Only Singtel is still offering both all 3 chs in HD.

TVB Pearl HD? That highly depends on TVB whether they want to provide the channel in Malaysia or not.

The contract for Nilai pack has ended on 27/05/2016. However, you need to maintain with the package till 30th of Nov 2016. Otherwise the rebate (which will be posted on August ) will be forfeited .
