Its ridiculous and nonsense to say that Najibi don't want people to lose NJOI. You mean to say that NJOI will die if Ass-throw monopoly die? Are you kidding me?

Without NJOI, more Free-To-Air TV channels can survive better and improve such as TV3, NTV7 and more Free-To-Air channels will appear. Do you realise that TV3 have to pay to Ass-throw to allow its channel to be relayed to Ass-throw? Such Free-To-Air Channels already face lots of competition and they even faced more unnecessary competition from Ass-throw own local channels such as Prima, Oasis, GoShop, Maya, Xi Yue and many more Ass-throw channels in NJOI. NJOI IS SERIOUSLY putting lots of pressure to TV3, NTV7, TV9 to get more advertisements and sponsors to survive!!

In fact, without NJOI, more and more Free-To-Air channels can appear and also broadcast more better content such as good quality shows. By having Ass-throw's appearance in the Free-To-Air channels with their own channels in NJOI, this only make the bad situation worse!!

Just look at the Ass-throw GoShop channels where products are advertised using studio demonstrations. TV3 also do have such programs BUT only for a short period a day because they cannot afford to show it all the time. Ass-throw GoShop is shown 24 hours daily. Now... do you see the difference? More products advertisement can be put into the 24hour time slot in GoShop compared to the TV3 "Shop" program. Now, Ass-throw is grabbing more of the advertising cake than TV3 just because Ass-throw is the BIG BOSS with TWO such 24 hours GoShop (Ch 118 and318). If I want to find out what trending good products are available, I don't want to wait till the time for TV3 to show the program, I just switch to GoShop channel, no need to wait LAH. That, my friend, are loss of advertising income for TV3. In fact, if NJOI did NOT exist, more advertisers can come to TV3, NTV7 and other such channels. NJOI only gives Ass-throw the EXCUSE to eat MORE CAKE of the Advertising Market by grabbing more such territory from Free-To-Air TV Stations.

Refusing to stop monopoly of Ass-throw will NOT help anyone. You may ask why?

Without competition, Ass-throw can continue to charge subscribers at overpriced Packs and increasing even more commercials. People who gets to watch "free" channels don't pay any subscriptions so they will definitely LOVE it when Ass-tro does cut the throats of subscribers paying for premium channels. What you must know also is that... more and more subscribers will get tired and dissatisfied with what Ass-throw is doing to them by pushing out more overpriced Packs, adding more new bad channels and increasing more and more advertisements. I believe what this will eventually do, is that more and more angry and dissatisfied subscribers will leave... so what will eventualy happen afterwards ? Ass-throw lost $$ income so they will find more ways to get back the lost income, maybe by increasing even more commercials or launching more Packs that only got 1 good channel with lots of commercials plus other rubbish channels.

Did you notice recently that Ass-throw sometimes show a small logo at top right of AXN HD Ch 721 that advertise for Joox Music streaming service informing us to press the Red remote button ? Previously once, Ass-throw even put an advertisement for the local movie "Ola Bola" right at the info bar when we press the OK button on the remote! Of course there are people like you that LOVES such advertising tactics and even welcomes even more advertisement and do NOT mind paying an expensive subscription price to watch more and more commercials/advertisments.

The issue here is NOT whether NJOI will be affected or die IF MONOPOLY to Ass-throw is stopped.

The issue here is whether Free-To-Air channels such as TV3, NTV7, TV9 can continue to survive or slowly die in the future.

The issue here is also whether COMPETITION is better than MONOPOLY... better for the consumers? OR is it better for the BIG BOSS corporates that makes TONS of money by cutting consumers throats.

In economics, is it better in the commercial world to have competition or to have monopoly. History has told us that monopoly and protectionism can only harm the economy in the long run. Its difficult for a layman to understand the intricacies of competition on the demand and supply projections.

Nothing is perfect. Not for COMPETITION, also not for MONOPOLY. Good or bad, I think competition CAN even help NJOI because Ass-throw is a BIG corporation that WILL NOT EASILY DIE. With competition, it can only help to get Ass-throw to improve and give us better products and services without us paying overpriced subscriptions.

NJOI will still be around even with competition to Ass-throw. With competition, another successful Satellite TV Provider CAN also give YOU and everyone else another alternative "NJOI" type of free channels which relies only on advertising income. Then Free-To-Air Channels such as TV3 and others can pay less for relaying channels and using the Satellite platform by choosing from which Satellite TV provider that gives the best deals.

Therefore, another Satellite TV Provider CAN allow us to choose between NJOI or another similar one... AND... even allow Premium Channels Paid Subscribers to choose which one can give better price with better TV programs or content.

For example...
NJOI has 28 "free" channels which includes CCTV4 channel AND 20 Radio Channels.
Another provider... I call it as "FreeSatTV Pack" has 40 "free" channels which includes CCTV4, Phoenix News, MTV Asia. AND have 30 Radio Channels.
And I pay less RM 50 on the FreeSatTV Pack for the Decoder and Dish Plus Installation.
... then of course I will NOT choose NJOI.

Don't worry, with competition, even IF NJOI dies, we still have "FreeSatTV Pack" and when more Satellite Providers enter this "Satellite Free Channels Boxing Arena", we have more "NJOI Alternatives" to choose from.

So, with competition, it doesn't matter and not important anymore whether NJOI stays or DIES !!

Please open up your mind wider and you will be able to see the better and clearer picture.

Oh... by the way... "FreeSatTV Pack" from an alternative Satellite TV Provider do not exist yet, I only "invented" this name to illustrate my point. And I don't work for TV3 and no affiliation whatsoever.

For ASTRO, to watch full Olympics coverage, you must at least subscribe to SPORT LITE PACKAGE (RM12.72) which you can unsubscribe again after Olympics end (subject to RM10 downgrade fee). Or else, just enjoy what's on ASTRO ARENA, ARENA HD & RTM.

We hope Astro will offer 4K Ultra High Definition (HD) ontent in the future.

Their exclusive satellite TV license will expire Feb 2017. I hope the government will liberalize the satellite TV licenses after that. Mega TV, MiTV and ABN failed because cable TV won't work in Malaysia. For Hypp TV, it is not feasible to cover the whole Malaysia, especially rural areas.

Just terminate my astro account, just got my android  tv box to watch live tv even though my home line only 4mbps streamyx. So far so good,quite smooth even for most of the HD channel.  Using UBOX gen 3.

Astro use all 3 Measat satellites (Measat 3, Measat 3a and 3b) on 91.5 degrees (East orbit) to provide satellite TV to customers.

If all HD channels move to Measat 3b, then how about Measat 3a satellite? They won't waste the precious and expensive satellite capacity just because new satellite with better technology has launched, unless the satellites has reach its end of life, which it will be more than 10 years from now.

damn astro, already terminate my astro account after account expired. now want to take back my astro PVR plus the satellite dishes. told me belongs to astro, told them previously before i am using PVR, normall astro decoder after contract finish still belongs to customer. Anyone facing same situation with me for PVR recorder? so in future want to watch astro again, need to apply new one for new decoder + satellite dishes + contract, cannot use reconnection account. damn astro, paying so much for 2 years, still want me to given back decoder to them...
