The addition of the eGG, Astro Arena HD, Astro Supersport 4 HD & BeIN Sports is a welcome move as the price increase is accompanied with channel addition but I hope Fox Sports 2 & 3 will have HD version just like Arena & Supersport 4.

Will see which company will apply for satellite TV license after February 2017 when Astro's exclusive license end. Meanwhile MYTV seems like a failed venture even before official rollout:

Katanya, perbincangan dengan pihak MYTV masih diteruskan dan selagi isu itu tidak diselesaikan, sukar untuk kumpulan memuktamadkan keputusan menggunakan siaran SD atau beralih kepada HD pada masa depan. "Alhamdulillah pihak MYTV mendengar rungutan kami dan sedang berusaha mencari jalan penyelesaian, termasuk mengkaji semula caj terbabit. Olympic Rio 2016 is free on HyppTV, 7 HD channels.  Assthrow screws us and need to pay!!!!

When will the BeIn and Arena HD broadcast? Heard BeIn will take channel 837

I believe the reason why is because Ass-throw is "bundling" them cheap cheap to TM. TM replace the sports channels (which Ass-throw charges expensively) with the in-house channels allowing TM to reduce costs AND allows TM to "show" to their customers that they do not "lose" anything, lol. At the same time, eventhough Ass-throw charges cheaper to TM, Ass-throw don't lose anything because of repeats, repeats, repeats and lots of commercials. Its a Win-Win situation for both TM and Ass-throw and a Lose-Lose one for consumers. Well... only my opinion.

As time goes by, eventhough not many, I think more and more people will move away from Ass-throw. I am downgrading very very soon as I look for other limited ways. All I need to do is just sit quietly, wait and watch the situation to get worse for Ass-throw as they continue to ignore consumers frustrations and find ways to make more money. Well... many may say that Ass-throw will not die... and I will reluctantly agree that this virus will not die.

Sony GEM launched today on Singtel TV, some pics for those interested. Seems like not just Japanese programs, there are some Taiwan n China dramas too. Just sharing, thx.

Plus, Arena is now 16:9 by default on SD version. No conversion if your tv is HDTV ready.

Astro will change name on 1st January 2017 to "Satro" (Satellite Asian Television Radio Operator)... mmm.... I do sound like its true but is it? Will you believe me without any proof? I have juz been browsing through the Tv guide for the sports channel for football next weekend when the Premier League season starts. Wanted to see what channel has what and wheter the RM8.48 price hike brings anything new. This is my summary of the channels for football:

Astro Supersport 1,2,3:
English Premier League
Champions League & Europa League from group stage onwards

Fox Sports1,2,3:
German Bundesliga
Duthch Eridivise

beIN sports:
French Ligue 1
Spanish La Liga

Not covered:
Italian Serie A
English Championship
English Capital One League Cup

So from what I see, there is nothing new. The leagues and cup that i mentioned there as not covered is significant because, 2 seasons ago it was there, last season all of it plus French Ligue 1 was not covered, and this season still not there. Ofcourse maybe not important leagues and cups but it should be covered especially with the price hike.

And beIN sports is such a rojak channel to save Astro the costs of getting La Liga and French Ligue 1 rights individually. It is very evident to me the cost of getting the Premier League rights has forced Astro to drop rights for other things they had previously.

And one more thing. When they announced they had secured the Premier League rights back in February, they stated that all 380 games will be LIVE on Tv and on the go. I was thinking they would have temporary channels up every weekend to broadcast games simultenously like they do in the US and Australia. Something similar to the Olympic channels now but i just checked, and there are still games that will be shown on Delay on TV. So there's another lie from them.

Can anyone guide me to what feed is Astro using for beIN sports?

I meant  what international feed were they using? Middle-east? Singapore? Indonesia?

And where is beIN sports SD?
