Plus, there is once where TV3 did a test transmission in HD quality (and even has Dolby Digital Plus logo on it) showing some sort of music concert programme and it keep on repeating/looping. Fortunately, someone screen capture the test transmission... You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw6oXZmjQtgAlso, watch it in original recorded 1080p quality by the user here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljsgcmUg3ZU(These videos is Unlisted, please be considerate before sharing) Credit to YouTube user: MK84 This post has been edited by joshhd: Dec 15 2016, 08:11 PM

QUOTE(dannielshazmeer @ Dec 19 2016, 08:35 PM) astro in mode cutting cost to upgrade the news channel astro awani to HD is not necessary news channel not really need for HD because not popular channel to upgrade HD popular channel to upgrade HD movie pack Hmm... I don't really agree with that. Astro Awani's monthly net reach is quite high, you know? There are many viewers watches Astro Awani. And I agree that Malaysian TV news/media should upgrade news channels to HD, cuz other countries already started airing their news in HD quality while majority of Malaysian TV news/media still stuck in SD quality.

QUOTE(dannielshazmeer @ Dec 19 2016, 08:36 PM) Tv3 Tv1 tv2 tv9 ntv7 When will this channel will up to HD ? 2017 ? 2018 ? or 2019 ? These depends on RTM and Media Prima on when they will air their channels in HD quality. But what we know for sure is, both RTM and Media Prima already upgraded their broadcast facilities from analogue to digital few years ago, so for them to broadcast their channels in HD is actually possible on DTT (digital TV) or pay TV platform. Malaysians can expect (not "confirm will") RTM and Media Prima to introduce their channels in HD quality only after digital TV platform become officially available nationwide around 2017.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Dec 20 2016, 10:30 AM) Well I'm guessing its 2019... Since by then we all really needs to use full digital transmission instead of the current one.. ASEAN countries (including Malaysia) were agreed and already in transitioning to digital TV using DVB-T2 standard, and then switch off analogue TV broadcast by the year of 2020. In other words, you could say that by hook or by crook, all ASEAN countries have to switch off analogue TV by 2020. This post has been edited by joshhd: Dec 20 2016, 03:39 PM

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Dec 20 2016, 04:02 PM) good to know all is require to change to digital TV.. those analogue TV is kinda old technology.. we needs to move forward Not only ASEAN countries... The ITU (International Telecommunication Union) urges the whole world to migrate to digital TV. Most of the countries already migrated, some is still in transition, some is "unknown". Another advantage is moving to digital is that, it allows the spectrum from 700MHz to use it as mobile network instead of TV, which includes 4G LTE and also the upcoming 5G. Malaysia plans to implement 700Mhz frequency band for more 4G mobile network bandwidth but it is only possible after the analogue TV is switch off.

QUOTE(weikengwong @ Dec 20 2016, 06:14 PM) RTM/Media Prima still have the option to broadcast in 16:9 SD once switch to digital. Not necessary in HD 16:9. Very true. Just like what Thailand and Singapore does... Almost all or ALL of their national channels are already broadcast in 16:9, except Malaysia... I was wondering when will that happen in RTM/Media Prima channels, after all almost all of their programmes they get from content provider are already in digital HD 16:9 format, but still broadcast as 4:3 with letterbox.

QUOTE(Anime in HD @ Dec 20 2016, 06:45 PM) But CRT TV will have screen 16:9 and black bars up and down. Still ok than 4:3 that need to stretch on HDTV The broadcasters can choose to broadcast their content in native 16:9 aspect ratio, but the video is still 4:3 but squeezed and no letterbox. Last time Go Shop (ch118) used to be like this. But no more like this since Go Shop upgraded to HD.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Dec 21 2016, 06:21 PM) Yup. No display of time or channel number at the decoder.. Just red (off) or green (on) dot.. You mean this Astro STB?
This is the latest DMT 5 B.yond HD box. It is smaller in size, no front display panel, does not have any recording functionality (not even the previous Plug 'N Play PVR function).

Have you try reboot your Astro DMT? If still persists, try connect other HDMI ports on your TV.
