Hi,

Depends on how long the warranty is, what your line of work is and how much more between the two.

If your line of work requires shooting in harsh environment, I think
that the manufacturer might consider voiding the warranty out of misuse.

The thing is, the price difference between import and local can be as much as RM1k or more, would you pay that much for one year warranty?

Anyway, if I were to buy a camera for leisure, I would buy AP set because I know I would baby the camera and I'd take the risk without that warranty. That's cause I hardly claim warranty for products I buy (touch wood).

So yeah, that's just my input. I hope it helps.

I would go for local set. Got my Nikon D80 years back. I have no problem with it until I sold it. However my D700 cannot read the CF card after about 10 months use. Nikon Malaysia replace it for free.

Just bought an X T1 2 weeks ago. Also local set as it gives me peace of mind. However some of my lenses and accessories are not local sets. I once drop my 18-200 while in Manchester. Itr costs me RM800 to get it repaired. Now my 17-35 cannot focus. yet to sent it to Nikon for repair
