i think the graphics isnt really that essential for windows vista. cos vista supporting mobos have integrated graphics which should suffice. i think the ram is a more important component when thinking of vista. 2gb ram if dunwan slow....

LCD monitor shouldn't be affected by OS version but if i'm not mistaken, windows vista is effected by wat GC u use, cos DX10 will be released together wif Vista, and with all current GC using DX9c at most, me think u can really utilise all the eye-candy in Vista unless u have a DX10 card but this is just my personal opinion, no facts to back it up

I tougt that eyes candy of vista just direct x 9 enough already. Aego glass should be only utilze directx 9. Direct x 10 is just for gaming.

vista looks like not good for overclocking based on my experience, i cannot use tight timing of ram which can be used in xp to run my vista at stable stage, blue screen wil pop up after a heavy load. however, the vista i am using now is pre rc1 5552, not final yet, so i hope that i this problem can be solved after releasing newer version or retail version

I read from software section, they said that we can use pen drive to serve as virtual memory/ram to run AeroGlass, usually GC released between 2004-present are able to, but need the manufacturer to write a WDDM driver

Aiya, if u wan to run it at bare minimum, the rig we are using now will be sufficient. If the entry cost to Vista is so high, how is MS gonna be able to persuade private and corporate users to switch?

If the entry cost to Vista is so high, how is MS gonna be able to persuade private and corporate users to switch? There'll be big companies that wil venture in vista. But those are really big big companies. They'll be the first customers to change ASAP.Sure got pact between such companies. In the PLC of course the introduction stage is gonna be slow and costly. When production increases and price drops, people will start switching. This affects hardware price as well, when demands for more powerful hardware increases, old hardwares will be be produced anymore and thus become obsolete.Due to the numberless competitiors(LYP alone is enough) ppl will start price wars. And so the price will go down and consumers will start switching.New pc's produced by big manufacturers like Dell,Acer and bladah bladah will start selling vista instead of xp. Just my 2 cents, please correct me if i'm wrong.

REALLY got a bad feeling with vista. No worry, I think the ram price might decrease half in order to meet the vista requirement. When the time come when we can bare with the vista ram needed, then only upgrade also not too late.

Yes vista is a revolution Pray that microsoft don't eat back the bad fruits they plan thier own. Consumer are not stupid, they wont follow blindly. Vista is just calling ppl to spend more money. Feel that the launch of vista is also the raise of LINUX. They not handle careful, LINUX will eat them. LINUX run perfect on my Pentium3 256mb ram
