First night with my Lollipop... and the battery life is NOT GOOD!
I usually lost only 2% over night when I sleep. Last night I lost about 10%.
So, I fire up Battery Historian:
1. From you PC, download Battery Historian (its from Google)
-
https://github.com/google/battery-historian- It's a python script, meaning you need a python interpreter
2. Extract the data out from your phone
- Connect your phone to your PC via USB
- adb shell dumpsys batterystats > bat-stat.txt
3. Use Battery Historian to convert it into graphical HTML:
- python historian.py bat-stat.txt > bat-stat.html
4. Open bat-stat.html with browser...
- At some point at around 6:30am (while I was sleeping!), the GPS got switched ON! No new Top app started. I suspect this must be Google Now. It keeps On for 2 Hours...
- Yeah! I have no / little bad signal
- "phone_scanning" has been running for 10 hours! Dunno what the heck is it. Will find out.
- I got about 6 times "wifi_full_lock" every half an hour. I dunno if this is normal. Need to find out.
- My gmail tried to sync for 5 hours! Something is not right here.
- There is this "user" and "userfg" which I dunno what is it for.... need to find out.
I inspected list of "top" (mean foreground) app running, nothing unusual. I suspect it's the new OS trying to "scan" / "sync" with a lot of things after fresh installed. Will keep it running for a few more days or so to let it settle down and check the battery again.
cowithgun, i just run the battery historian, notice there are full bar at audio running 4 hour. means this is the one which cause wakelock rite? how to detect what audio is running? same as wifi running
