Guys, I need a new headphone for myself. I need it only for Movie, Gaming, and also blocking the outside noise.

My budget is below RM 500.00 (Would spend a little bit more, if you think the budget is not good enough for good headphone smile.gif )

My requirement:
Lightweight, (I had heavy headphone in the past, and it is very very uncomfortable)
Comfortable. (Yes, I am a gamer and I wear it for long time.)
Noise Blocking
Great Sound
No, I don't need mic, I don't use it.
I am not using the headphone for competitive gaming, I just like RPGs on my PlayStation smile.gif

It seemed like I din't follow the right format to ask for recommendation. My bad.

My budget is below RM 600.00

- My Rig: Computer and PlayStations Mostly, I mostly juse use my LED Monitor earphone jack smile.gif. Secondary Iphone/Ipad
- Gaming and Movie. (I dont need mic though)
- I don't listen to music much, but my music format is mostly MP3
- Metal / Rocks
- Closed Back / Circumaural
- Other requirements:
Lightweight, Comfortable. I had a AKG K 44 which is 190 grams or 6.7 ounces, I think it is quite comfortable.
Decent Noise Blocking. (I understand that there is none to block 100% off with RM 600)

Thanks for your recommendation! I am so glad to receive your message.

I checked around the web, and the price is Okay for me XD.

My only concern is that is this earphone consider heavy? (285g, stated in the official site). Because I had a steelseries siberia elite (worst spending decision EVER, I was young and naive), which weighs around 365g. (Not to mention bad sound and not durable, only a year and one side is mute)

My other earphone was AKG K44, which is only 190g and was extremely comfortable for long time wearing.

Also, is this brand durable? I am hoping to use it for at least 2 years (Preferably longer)

Finally, where can I audition one in KL/Selangor area?

9 out of 10 gaming headphone doesn't last > 2years. I have got a friend with his M50 for 5years, head paddings deteriorated (replaced the ear pads) but no any others problem has occured so far. My AD700 lasted 7years, still working for me!  flex.gif

What makes a headphone feels heavy it depends on the design and construction, the joint and supports must be aligned and distribute the weight across the wearer head. In M50X's case, I hardly feel any discomfort regarding the weight. (had a modded T50RP [330g] + that cable [50g])

K44 nowhere close to M50X in term of sound performance.
BTW the MDR-1R and COP is not really an all rounder compared to the versatile M50X, but as additional options why not?  tongue.gif 0.02$

if you think thats heavy, wait until you try a planar  laugh.gif
btw you can add the beyers custom one pro to your list of consideration
or even the mdr-1r

Guys! I am back!

I finally got my ATH-M50X! The sound is great! Thanks to the sifus who recommended me here!

But I have a question sifus, the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable that comes with this earphone is a little short for me (1.2m), where can I get a longer one? or should I buy the audio technica cable? or any brand will do? i think 1.5m - 1.8m should be enough.

Thanks in advance, really enjoying my new earphone!

Just use the coiled one. m50x jack is different from others since it got that locking system.

So cannot cincai find any jack to replace it.

Saved my time, I was going to find one in Lowyat, guess I will just stick with the coiled cord.

Hi guys, Im back again, I am happy with my ATH-M50x but I have a brother who needs recommendation for Ear Bud Earphone.

- Budget - Below RM 300.00 Willing to pay more if absolutely needed.
- Your rig - PC and Iphone
- What type of usage - Mostly Gaming and Movies (Long time usage)
- File formats: FLV, RMVB, MP4
- Dont really listen to music
- Headphone/ earphone type - Ear Bud
- Is there any earbud earphone that does lesser harm to your ear, because I always hear people saying that in-ear is way more harmful. I need this recommendation for my little brother who doesnt like to wear headphones.

Thanks in Advance.

Sifu, I need help again.

Your rig: PS4 and PC
- What type of usage: Gaming mostly, light music.
- File format used in your source: MP3 mostly
- Genre of music you listen to: Metal
- Headphone/ earphone type: Prefer Over-Ear, but is on-ear comfortable?
- Other requirement: Yes, it must be a wireless headphone. I already own a ATH-M50X, which is a more than fine headphone, but I want a wireless headphone now, for comfort reason.
-Budget: Below 1500 (Willing to pay more if reason is convincing.)

I bought an old wireless AKG today, but turns out it has a very annoying hissing sound in the back so I returned it. Now I am back to the market looking for Headphone.
I am not picky with sound quality, I am more concern about the comfortable level. As long as there is no background noise and the audio quality is not too distorted, I am fine with that.

Another question, which is more comfortable? On Ear or Over Ear?
