Hi, im looking for a good IEM. Not an audiophiles but i do appreciate good SQ.

- Your rig: Oneplus One with V4A and Sansa Clip
- What type of usage: 99% Music during commute
- File format used in your source: mp3 mostly and flac
- Genre of music you listen to: All types of music but listen to rock, hardcore and pop
- Headphone/ earphone type: IEM
- Budget: around RM250

Currently using Byerdynamics XP2 but somehow i feel that my dead soundmagic PL21 sounds better. So im looking for an upgrade for my XP2. Thinking of IM50 and KC06A. Thought pls?

If ur willing to top up a little, consider getting the Vsonic GR07 Classic. Currently on sale at LMUE (but the sale ending today i think).

I'm wondering which earphone is good for long run

ATH-IM50 or FAD Adagio III (Will use this with my HTC One S, or through my PC)

3 things I'm looking at
-Comfort
-Durability
-Sound Quality (I'm used to listen to music with my AD900X, prefer something similar with a little bit more in the sub-bass region)
*
If ur looking for best value for money, at the moment I would say the Fidue a71. Beats both the Im50 and adagio III without much of a challenge.

If not, u can try looking out for the Vsonic GR07BE as well. Or, if u can get a good deal, try the T-Peos altone 200 which is brighter and has a nice quality to its bass (but if ur sensitive to bright earphones, stay away from the altones)

Not sure where to find Fidue in malaysia, but between those 2, which is better for long run?
*
Fidue u can get it thru lendmeurears website, theyre based in singapore, but ship free to Malaysia, they occasionally have offers. The Vsonic ones also can get from them. The altones are the toughest to get at the moment, as I only know u can get them through a member in head-fi forum and also ebay.

But if ur comparing the IM50 against the adagio III, i would personally go for the IM50. The last time I auditioned the adagio III was in Jaben and I just wasnt very impressed (but that just my own personal taste).. but then again, i also prefer the IM70 to the IM50 (but IM50 might suit u better since im guessing you're all about that bass tongue.gif).

Budget - up to RM300 maybe can push a little bit.
Source - HTC ONE M7, Lenovo T430
Isolation - Some, usage in office but need to hear the phone ring Preferred type - IEM
Preferred tonal balance - balanced
Past headphones - Xiaomi Piston 2.1
Music - classical, classic rock, rnb, chillstep, pop, heavy metal. So pretty much all genres

Considering IM50, IM70, Fidue A71, GR07 classic, FAD Heaven II.
Will be using for long hours, and might be taking them out often. Would prefer something easily taken in and out.
*
All those that u mentioned are over the ear except for FAD heaven II which easily makes it the easiest to put on and take out. However, comfort might be a different story, different people will have different size and shape ear canals. But for me, GR07 is the most comfortable, but in terms of sound quality, A71 sounds the best to my ears. IM50 and IM70 sits somewhere in between. Actually my least favourite on your list would be the FAD Heaven II.

I don't mind over ear, even the Pistons I prefer to loop over ear  laugh.gif What's the comfort like on A71? Lendmeurs can get for around 293 including shipping.
*
Comfort wise it is decent... its not uncomfortable by any means, when u first put it on, u might struggle a little, but once u get the fit right, it is pretty comfortable.

Im guessing you're using the blackfriday17 coupon on lendmeurears? its a really good offer. Better get it before the offer disappears.

Yeah, ordered already. Couldn't wait after seeing all the reviews on Head-Fi thread as well. Just hope for the best. Tiny bit worried about the reliability since it's technically a Chinese brand  as that was the main reason I was hesitant about the GR07 CE. Read too many complaints on the GR07 cutting out in one ear.
*
I also have their flagship a83, and even tho its a chinese company, they still managed to make some amazing hardware both design wise and sonically. It is by far the best ive owned. But i also read on headfi that theyre quite good with honoring their warranty, so I wouldnt worry too much about it.

Excited to get them now. Any idea how long it takes to ship from Singapore to Malaysia? My first real good earphones  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Hope i didnt over hype them, I really do hope that u enjoy them. The shipping will depend on which option u selected, the express takes only 2 days, but the other option take about 5-7 days

QUOTE(Stefan How @ Dec 23 2014, 02:57 PM)
Just wondering is there any IEM that have similar sound signature like the ATH CKR10? (Like the forwardness and vocal sound fuller signature.) Would prefer an IEM with superb clarity, good bass response, wide soundstage, instrument separation and have good imaging. As mine broke within a few week. So currently sending it back to Japan to get a refund as they don't have any replacement unit. Luckily the return shipping is cover by them (Feel Glad).
I will be using my IEM with my HTC One M8 with Fiio E18, and UD120 with laptop.
Using mostly for music, genre such as Jpop, OST,EDM and Country song.
Mostly all FLAC.
Would prefer an IEM that have good isolation.
Mic or control button are welcome too, i can live without it too.
Currently I'm looking at JVC FX850, RHA T10, Tpeo H300.
My budget is Around RM700-900.
Thanks in advance  smile.gif

Check out the Fidue A83, it is one heck of an IEM, go read the reviews on head-fi and u will understand what i mean.

I own them and they are by far the best pair I have ever owned. The JVC FX850 are really nice as well, I like how the wooden housing makes drums sound like ermmm well, drums. But that being said, I find it too bass heavy for my liking. The RHA T10i i have not tested, but from what I have read so far, its all about the Bass, no treble. Not so sure about the Tpeos H300 tho, I used to own the Tpeos altones 200 and they sound great with a nice articulate bass and very bright vocals. Female vocals sound amazing on these, but sad to say it gets a little fatiguing and it is pretty sibilant.

So without a doubt, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Fidue A83. If not then u can try the Sony A3 or the older H3, its not bad, but just not my cup of tea.

Thanks for the recommendation, sadly its over my budget. I would prefer an iem with detachable cable though since i use my IEM a lot.  smile.gif

Hmmm.. actually, when lendmeurears.com is on sale, it is approximately RM900+. I got mine for about RM910 when it was on sale on that site. But all depends on the exchange rate, since lendmeurears sells their goods in singapore dollars. But oh well, since its over your budget, then i guess cant be helped. Next best would be the FX850 then (which is really expensive in KL, but many times cheaper in Japan)

Yea I'm buying it from Japan. Local are selling more than 1k so ya.
Yeah I'm aware of that, but are they using the cable alike shure's or weststone's? Or having their own cable like the ATH IM series?
*
Theyre using the same cable, the mmcx cable. You can use the Shure cable on the A83, but u cant use the A83 on the Shure coz the stock cable comes with a notch on it which locks the cable in place.

Hello. Got a Sony xba h3 selling for rm600. Is it a good deal? Unopened package. Quite liking it actually haha. Reviewer compare it to westone 40 ni
*
If its a Original unopened unit, then its a good value.

The H3 is really nice especially if u enjoy more bass centric IEMs. But even tho its more bass heavy, it has some nice notes in the mids and highs. At the original retail price of RM999, I would rather get something else like the Fidue A83 or the Dunu DN2K, but since its only RM600, I would say its a real good deal.

Thanks! I now have a se215 and a hd280 pro. Is it a huge difference? Or lebih kurang je
*
Not so sure about the hd280, but definitely much better than the se215 imho. But best u go test it out urself. They have display sets at sony outlets and also at Jaben.

guys, is there any cheaper alternative for the apple earphone ? Please see the spoiler for the pic

I thought of getting the earphone from xiaomi, cost rm50 ish only which is way cheaper. However,i m afraid that the quality wont be same as apple ear phone.

I m not an audiophile, but i just want an cheaper alternative with can produce same sound quality as the apple earphone.

The earphone mainly for my xiaomi note . haha.
*
yes, the xiaomi one is a good alternative.. probably the best value for money earphones currently out there.

I never liked the apple earphones, didnt think it sounded good. Their earpods are a marked improvement from their old earphones, but I still dont really like it coz of the horrendous isolation.

So yes, xiaomi pistons would be a good buy IMO.

Guys, can recommend me a pair of wireless earbuds which have pretty decent sound quality which is suitable for running/exercise (ip rating).

My budget is ~rm500 but the lower the better.

I am currently using a pair of wired fidue a83. I do love them to bits, but they're not suitable at all for exercising. I know I won't be able to get sound quality even close to that of my fidues but at least a pretty decent quality sound with good clarity and decent mids would be nice. But am not overly picky since I'll use it while running, doubt I would be too nit picky on the details.

Bought a Hifiman TWS600 demo unit from stars picker for RM150. They said they wanna get rid of it coz demand for this unit very low, not many people like the sound signature. Good thing I quite like it. The sound signature it quite unique and unlike most other TWS. For rm150, i think it was a pretty good deal. Curious to wonder what others think of this TWS? Am i the only one who kinda like the sound of this TWS? hmm.gif
