Hello, im currently using Seinnheiser HD555 & been using it for 4-5 years already. Now planning to upgrade my headphone. So what is a significant upgrade from a HD555?
Something to note: - What type of usage: music, games - File format used in your source: FLAC & mp3 - Genre of music you listen to: more to R&B & ballad - Headphone/ earphone type: closed, circumaural etc

QUOTE(yuka @ Sep 22 2014, 12:43 PM) You could try Sennheiser HD650, but its open-back and full size headphone just like your HD555. Else try the M50. And please state your budget. I dont want an open back. Budget 1-2k

QUOTE(Ask_Yip @ Sep 22 2014, 04:18 PM) Sony MDR-1R Sennheiser Momentum Denon D600 Beyer T5p LCD-X? Sennheiser Momentum looks interesting. Anyone bought it? What about the price here in M'sia? Personally you would choose which one?

QUOTE(Ask_Yip @ Sep 22 2014, 05:00 PM) Depends. I am a Sennheiser fan boy but Momentum are less portable to me since it cannot fold. Sony are the best portable, and price/performance ratio based on recent price (less than RM 1k) I have the Denon, a bit bassy for your genre, less portable also. T5p not heard before, no comment, but is top of the line of Beyer, could never go wrong. LCD... you need amp to drive it... forget about it by now... My choose will be 1. Momentum 2. Denon 3. Sony 4. Beyer Te Sennheiser, how much in Malaysia? THe sound quality is much2 more better than HD555? If not much difference i'd stick with my HD555 :| Thanks for your recommendation. The Momentum looks the most interesting imo. Im mainly using it at my home, not that worry about portability. This post has been edited by dauf87: Sep 23 2014, 06:59 PM

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Sep 22 2014, 05:17 PM) +1 on Ask_Yip's comment. The Momentum is not portable especially when you're bringing it out with the case. V-Moda M100 has probably the best portability build, but it's more genre specific and not as versatile sounding as Momentum. If portability is not an issue for you, then Momentum is nice... other choices for you that i haven't heard are Shure SRH1540, Focal Spirit, NAD VISO HP50, etc. What do you mean by genre specific? The Momentum, its audio quality much2 more better than the one im using now? (HD555)

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Sep 23 2014, 11:31 PM) Means suited for certain type of music. The Momentum is more balanced than M100 which has a v-shaped sound signature (bass boost, recessed mids, sparkly trebles). Ok thanks. In ur opinion, V Moda or Momentum better overall?

Went to jaben the day before. Tested several headphones. Narrowing my option to Momentum, VISO HP50 & BeyerDynamic T51P. VISO HP50 the most comfortable to wear and sound quality on par with Momentum IMO. T51P sounds surprisingly good!! Anyone own T51P or VISO HP50? Care to share your experience?
