Like I stated in my previous, I don't listen to metal. And as stated previously the budget is for a set and not just the the DAP.
Does it make sense to get a Fiio X5 or X3 on headphones like the MS1 or the M50? That DAP is more expensive than the headphones.

I'd like to modify my question to make it easier- whats a decent balanced headphone which is a step up from the MS1 below RM700.

Its true that the headphone alone does not determine good sound quality but you are recommending at least a Fiio X3/iBasso DX50 just to pair with an Alessandro MS1? The headphone makes the most difference in the level of SQ, the DAP the least so I don't quite follow your line of thought here.

I enjoyed the soft sound of the background instruments such as guitar, chello, violin etc.

Not many earphones has this feature.

So far, I experienced this with those SONY earphones that came with together with the smartphone.

Other earphones, the soft sound is just not clear enough.

hi guys, not sure if this is the correct section. I am looking for a wireless earphone/headphone so I will not disturb anyone when watching tv. I am hesitant to get a headphone as my wife and I will sometime watch movie together and do not want to disturb the kids sleeping. or if headphone, then that means both of us will have receiver but only one transmitter. I am checking Sennheiser RS120 II, but that means I need to buy another set of the headphone receiver which will shoot my budget. So if there is some cheaper alternative soltuion. Budget wise should not exceed 500.

I'm looking at either Jaybird Bluebuds X and Klipsch S4 Rugged. Used to own S4 Rugged, one of the best earphone I had. It was decommissioned too early due to an accident. I'm open to any suggestions though
