I'm planning to buy Audio Technica ATH-M40x Headphone. Is velour pads a good solution for the hot ears problem? Do I get a S version or A is good enough?
https://shopee.com.my/(Class-S-Velour)-Audi...7c-a5a4fb4a1bce

My last headphone got its earpad destroyed because of the sweat O_o
*
The opening on that velour pad looks smaller than the original pad. With original pad it already touching part of my ear, this I assume would touch even more.
Not sure on hot ears problem as I don't have this problem. I use stock or change to aftermarket pad that have bigger opening so that it won't touch my ear. Don't know if this help to make my ear doesn't feel hot.
From pleather to velour, there will be some reduction on bass.

Hello. I bought WH-1000XM4 for my wife and I like the sound profile. The thing that I don't like are the ear cup size and synthetic leather ear pad material. It feels hot and I had a little sweat when I wear it for about 1 hour. Can anyone recommend me a headphone that is identical sound profile like the XM4 but with larger ear cup size and the ear cup material made with velour material? I don't mind if the headphone don't have ANC. My budget is around RM1000-RM2000. Thank you.

You can try getting the suede pads for the XM4.

Not sure what other headphone has the same sound signature but larger ear cups though.

Hi, curious to know if the planer magnetic tech is similar to one in Audeze Penrose?

Quite interesting in this Edifier model. hmm.gif

Hi sifus,

I lost my Shure 846 (I got it for RM 3k), I can't afford that much anymore due to loss of job.

Recommend me an in-ear wired that is as good or better for around RM 1k-2k range. I miss the sub-bass response and the overall soundstage/range of the 846 when I switched to my A-Jays 3 and Beyerdynamic DTX80.

I've been totally out of touch from the latest IEM scene and I'm confused with what to buy nowadays. If the shure 846 is too much of a benchmark, maybe something close to Monster Turbine Pro Gold?

EDIT : Further information;

- Your rig (Sony Xperia phone with GoVibe Martini)
- What type of usage (music and occasional calls)
- File format used in your source (flac/monkey's audio & mp3 320kbps)
- Genre of music you listen to (EDM, Classical)
- Other requirements (if any) (wired with mic if possible, occasionally use for zoom/webex meetings)

Thanks for your recommendation, however, the current price is at 2k range(the fw03 is at 1k range with the fw02 at 1.5k range) I might as well get a Audio Technica ATH-E70

You can order from Drop or from amazon japan. Cheaper and should be about 1k. That's how i got mine.

The jvc fx1100 is even more of a bass cannon but at the expense of the bass being muddier/looser. Also available at amazon japan.

Hi,

Could someone help to recommend true wireless headphones for sports / gym use? Must be sweatproof and i like the idea of having earhooks so that it stays on more securely. ANC feature preferable.

In addition to sound quality (mainly going to be listening to music and audiobooks during workout) another important request is comfort both considering the earhooks and especially buds size - hope it has suitable size options for smaller ears.

Budget around rm500.

I was recommended the Soundcore Spirit X2, but I don't think those are available anymore.

Thanks!

Right now i'm using AirPod Pro, though it's usable with my Samsung S22. I'm thinking to move to Sony or Samsung TWS.
However, my requirement is that i want really good microphones, cause i only use the TWS for phone calls.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.
