yeah lor.. as i said it would be nice if both side is mirror. but i am ok if one side is mirror as well. if they can only make one side then i suppose the other side they can use frosted sticker or something like that

Both side better. Needs two pieces of glass and laminate together. If single side, then the silver on the back may tarnish and rub off. clear or colored glass would be better.

they thing is...i don't think the mirror itself is going to be strong enough as a door? i believe my sliding door contractor solution is to add the mirror ontop of a tempered glass. hence the aluminium frame.

unless mirror can be produce from tempered glass. so i am also ermm at wits end. i tried asking a few contractor all say only glass..no mirror

its suppose to be "hidden" so makes it dual usage acts as a mirror and a concealed door.

yeah i know its a relatively simple thing just that i can't seems to find a contractor that can do that and of coz i refuse to believe that there is no solution to such simple thing....

worst case do an aluminium sliding door with mirror...but then it wouldnt look nice cry.gif

outside of the bathroom you see a mirror, inside its clear glass
this way there wont be any silver to tarnish or wear off

I am sure got....you know why...coz got some cases in Malaysia where ppl recorded girls changing clothes in shopping complexes..that was quite some time ago. one way to know it is to put your hand on the glass. from there you can see if the reflection is on the outer side or inner. if inner its mirror if outer mean...jeng jeng jenggg

if the whole idea is just to make a hidden door, why not just make a hidden door? if you want mirror door also no problem.
just remove the door frame, make the door flush with your walls. glue a piece of mirror on it.

cause the way it is now, you can see the hardware anyway and sliding door, you can see it is not flush and therefore not hidden

take a look at this - can see the door?

well that's one idea. anyway the idea came about becoz due to some reason the opening(without door frame) to my toilet is only 26 in. so it actually quite small. initial plan was to use those cheap plastic folding door but its too small especially when the door is folded we will not have much opening left.

we have not consider swing door maybe that's one way to do it though it might take up more space than sliding.

if you are referring to this http://www.glassmalaysia.com/commercial-glass/mirrors/

then no. forgot to call them. instead spent the whole day in puchong shopping for kitchen and toilet stuff.

will try again tomorrow. but i did meet up with my window contractor to firm up teh deal. they say will measure and get back to me. most likely is tempered glass and stick those reflective sticker. but what i dont like is the sliding mechanism is concealed. i prefer the one your showed me(exposed).....

they are not answering the call. their website only published the salesman's phone number

QUOTE(idoblu @ Sep 9 2014, 07:22 PM)
called them up. apparently this system itself without the glass cost around 1k plus. it can hold a maximum of 12mm thickness. given that tempered glass is 10mm his suggestion was also to stick a reflective film over it.
