hopefully when the car arrive all the problems found out since its launching
have been ironed out.
That's one of the reason for the delay, I hope.

Test drive again today for 1.6 CVT. Surprisingly the cvt sound was not significant like last time. Quite impressed with it. The car already clocked 500 km though.
Does that mean the CVT sound will tone down after sometime? En. Mat, any info on this. Am really gonna grill my wife to buy Iriz. |

QUOTE(rayzel @ Oct 25 2014, 06:04 PM) Last time my experience with the CVT was not very endearing. The CVT sound was obvious. My wife at the back can hear the CVT drone. That alone turn me off. But maybe the car was still virgin. This time, totally different. My wife test drove it and me sitting at the back. Quite a pleasant driving experince. The speed also seems like continually build up. This car already clocks 500km. For manual 1.3, I have no qualm. It's like driving a continental car(senyap je). Problem only with the brake. Just feel that need to press more only to slow down properly (macam brake tak cukup makan) This post has been edited by bojek: Oct 25 2014, 06:41 PM |

QUOTE(Effy92 @ Oct 25 2014, 11:07 PM) How can the cvt sound lessen overtime. Maybe your ear just come from noisy environtment. I used to drive saga cvt, sometime i felt so silent and sometime i felt noisy especially after wake up in the morring. Donno. But the car sound much better the second time I test drive, a lot. My wife 2nd it. First time drive very noisy, we also both agree anonymously.Try go to showroom using bike then straight go test drive iriz cvt you will feel the iriz so silent and comfy. But yeah different branch. |

QUOTE(putih @ Dec 9 2014, 11:35 PM) There are many theories on break in a new car engine. I'm not expert, but i prefer the hard break-in method. How's your brake. Cukup makan? Or kena tekan lebih baru kereta slow down.I basically follow the break-in guidlines in Iriz manual booklet but vary the engine speeds and push it within 15-20% more. Engine oil - just follow scheduled maintenance la... don't waste money... If your mileage is high around 10K km per 6 months, maybe better upgrade to semi-synth. I won't drive >7K km on mineral oil. QUOTE(m.iszact @ Dec 14 2014, 05:33 PM) Current engine for 1.6 NA and Turbo are sufficient enough. It's the gear box that really needs attention. From what I've heard, if not for punch CVT3+, proton turbo engine can churn more than 138 bhp and torque of 200 Nm. Otherwise.... buy manual |
