Hey guys. Just got my iPhone 6.
Beautiful piece of engineering, indeed. biggrin.gif

Quick initial review:-
- As a minimalist at heart, I just freaking-love the super-simple packaging design of the box.
- Build quality is pretty good. No gaps, no imperfections.
- Doesn't exactly feel as thin as I thought it would be. Probably because of the curves and increased size compared to my previous 5S.
- Curved glass looks really awesome, perhaps accentuated by the curved sides of the iPhone.
- The display quality seems about the same as 5S to me. Maybe with just slightly increased contrast and saturation.
- TouchID fingerprint recognition seems a tad faster than 5S.
- Battery seems a bit better than 5S. Just a bit.
- Charger included only 1A but have yet to try 2.1A charger on it. Using the included charger, it does charge reasonably quick.
- Call quality is great and loud.
- Speakers are quite acceptable. About the same as 5S.
- Vibration strength is nice and solid. Unlike the crappy vibration motor installed in Xperia Z2 and One Plus One (both phones I have owned before).
- 240FPS slow-mo video is AWESOME. You have to really try it out. This alone makes the upgrade totally worth it, IMO.
- Camera seems improved just a bit from 5S, but in my eyes, is still not be the best camera (on phone) out there despite Apple's claims on how much improvements have been put into.
- Software-wise, it's quite silky smooth but my HTC One M8 does seems to be quicker (at times) interface-wise compared to the 6.
- The iPhone 6 works pretty good with just one-hand. Can even use the 'swipe-back' gestures easily. Have not experienced the iPhone 6 Plus yet though, so I'll reserve my comments on that.

Now, where to get a case? laugh.gif

How is your thought about the Protruding Camera? Using Case or Naked? Ever though of applying SP on top?

I got incoming extra Diztronic Case for iPhone 6. Blue and Black available, wanna try? PM me and lemme know. smile.gif

By the way. Why don't buy official iPhone case?
*
How does your Diztronic look like? and Price?

Now using Naked. brows.gif

I actually like the protruding camera. Makes it look unique. Only thing is must be careful when placing your phone on any surface.

Official iPhone case is NOT my cup of tea. Too bad Apple didn't make the case like they did for the 5S, which covered the entire body. Now, may need to search for temporary case while waiting for ElementCase to release their premium range, and I'll be placing my order for sure (provided it looks good! lol).

Same question . huhu , i wonder how it look with tempered glass
*
Yes, am waiting for glass SP stock to arrive, and will install for sure. Protection is more important than how it looks. tongue.gif

Btw, this photo should give you an idea of how it looks like: http://www.spigen.com/catalog/product/gall...33/image/19120/

there is a reason why the new apple case is open much wider at the bottom so that it will universally fit all types of dock in the market.
*
Understandably so, at the expense of less protection for the phone itself. Depends which is more important to the user. biggrin.gif

I just saw this randomly on Twitter...not sure if it's true. The person said "Seems like the iphone6+ just breaks easily when put inside the backpocket while sitting."

I don't know why he didn't take it out before he sat though but if it breaks so easily...

The screen display might not be safe for work btw.

Hah they surely will replace since it's clearly shown that its defective right out of the box! My maxis iphone back then got warranty 1 to 1 change terus for faulty button. But they are at liberty to replace with refurbished unit (just as good as new) , according to terms and agreement.
*
If the hardware is defective, 100% they will exchange. But the grey area lies where there are minor scuffs or scratches on the unit.

Of course you have to pay first, that is why they are obliged to replace it with a replacement after all. Because you already gave them money. If they don't offer a replacement then customer will be pissed for being scammed for money with defective product. I don't see an issue with this. This goes the same with any other electronic goods.

"U no pay, how we can support u?"
*
This only happens when there's a manufacturer seal on the box / product. If there is no seal (which is unlikely these days), it's a non-issue.

Getting a bit irritated with WhatsApp large fonts now. Just gotta live with it first. But other chat apps like Telegram already are optimized and look beautiful with iOS 8 font settings.

"Apple may have sold over 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus so far, but the company is not going to let the momentum stop. Together with the recording breaking sales announcement earlier today, Apple also announced that they will be expanding the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus availability to over 20 more countries this Friday, 26 September 2014, just one week after the sales that started last Friday.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus went on sales on 19 September 2014 to a handful of countries. Today, the Cupertino company announced that they will be heading to over 20 more countries this Friday including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey and United Arab Emirates. Apple aims to launch the new iPhones in a total of 115 countries by the end of the year, let’s keep our fingers crossed that Malaysia is in the list."

Hmmmm, 2nd batch of countries announced and Malaysia not in the list yet. Gotta keep our fingers crossed still. hmm.gif

Anyone here is regretting getting the iPhone 6 Plus and wants an iPhone 6?

Currently in SG lots of iPhone purists are trading their 6 Plus for a 6 or a 5s
*
Being an ex OPO, Note 3 and Z2 user, and now an iPhone 6 user; I can see how these people feel.

Due to lack of app optimization specifically for the 6+ now and gigantic bezels, the iPhone 6 would really be the preferred go-to device for to the casual iPhone user.

Only power users (like me and I'm sure many other bros in this thread too) would truly appreciate the 6+ with its massive battery and extra large screen, and inconvenience of the size is a secondary factor. biggrin.gif

Yes. You know many people in SG rely on public transport and when it is packed, it is inconvenient to use two hands especially when you need to hold on to something when the vehicle/train is moving.

Or parents with babies or kids where they have to hold their hands so two handed phone is not viable.
Speaking of app optimisation I doubt they will come. Remember when iPhone 5 just came out? I waited for months for them to finally stretch the display.
Facebook, Instagram, Whatsappp, Flipboard all unoptimised. They should have given us the choice to use the iPad app versions me thinks since I often call my iPhone 6 Plus the iPad Micro (most would call it the Mini iPad Mini) tongue.gif

So friends who are looking for a used 6+ without going over the RRP, head down south.
*
Have to agree with on that. Heck, I believe even many iPhone lady users would still prefer 5S size over the 6. The 6, when slapped with a case, is pretty huge to hold for ladies.

Also, you are right about Apple not gonna optimize that much for the 6 plus. Because if they optimize the large screen area too much, who would buy their iPad Mini anymore. Hehe

Wow. This battery test seems a bit hard to believe. When I was using the LG G2, the battery is way better than the battery life of the 6 now.

Out of 10 million iPhone 6 series sold so far, and only so few cases. Perhaps they did something 'else' to their phone. Better wait and see if anyone locally in this forum experienced such issues too.

This is why I don't use the case. It's not Apple optimising it, Apple optimised their own apps pretty well especially Safari. Only those 3rd party apps are slow in responding, like Whatsapp, Instagram and Facebook; they give us a feeling that "I no optimise, you will still use it right, I rush to optimise for what? As well as I might take my own time and optimise it slowly"

Not hard to belive, i'm getting 18 hour usage time out of the box with 0 apps installed, only Safari. Now averaging obtaining 14-15h on WiFi, airplane mode, no background data usage, lowest brightness, only Whatsapp FB Twitter Insta Flipboard Safari. I always have a way to extend my usage time, since my Note 2 days. G2 is impressive, but still loses to the Note 2.
*
Wow. 14-15 hours on airplane. iPhone 6 right? I must have way too much crap installed then. Lol

Then it's not surprising. I was referring to iPhone 6 values when I made the remark earlier. 6+ performance has been well regarded in other benchmarks too.

They use the same A8 processor. Browsing speeds seem similar. So I doubt there's difference in clock speed. Refer here: http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/09/22/...s-in-benchmarks

From Engadget: By now, you've likely heard a thing or two about the new iPhones' flexibility, and Apple has offered a word on the matter. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Cupertino-based outfit only received nine complaints of bent devices and that the damage occurring due to regular use is "extremely rare." It also maintains that both the new iPhone 6 and its larger sibling went through durability testing to insure they'd stand up to daily use. Of course, the interwebs have been littered with videos of folks purposely trying to flex their mobile wares in far from "normal" conditions. Unfortunately, there's no word on if tight trousers are in fact to blame.

As an iPhone 6 user now, the size is really perfect. How I wish the iPhone 6 could have same battery life as the 6 Plus. I don't mind an iPhone 6 with increased thickness but large battery. Hehe. Now, if one wants better battery life, have to go for the 6 Plus. But perhaps many would settle for iPhone 6 - perfect for single-handed use and pocketability.

Just installed Spigen SGP Neo Hybrid EX Champagne Gold onto my iPhone 6. Purchased from fellow forumer ping325

user posted image

user posted image

Short review:-
- Installation of the case onto the phone is much easier than installing similar model onto iPhone 5S. perhaps this is due to the curved edges of the iPhone 6. the additional 'Spigen' wording on the back-rubber is a nice classy touch.
- The rubber insert part is not as sticky as before (comparing to the Neo Hybrid EX which I installed onto my previous iPhone 5S), and smoother. So it's easier to remove from your pockets due to less friction.
- The Champagne Gold colour of the case seems to be a perfect match for the iPhone 6 Gold colour.
- Metallic buttons on the case do make the buttons harder to press. Need to apply considerably more force, but still acceptable for me.
- The curved bumper case makes the phone feel pretty naked too as it feels just great in the hand.

Conclusion:
This is one of the coolest bumper type cases you can get for iPhone 6 Gold in the market now since it's quite difficult to find a case that matches the colour and design of the Gold colour of the iPhone 6. Unless you prefer something that protects the back as well, I highly recommend this case if you have a Gold iPhone 6!
