Does your caddy comes with the grounding switch?
Or it'll be easier if you just show me a picture of your caddy.

Yes. Does you caddy have that switch?
If the answer is yes, try flicking the switch to the other side.

Only a few laptop has this sort of problem.
This is the first I've seen after selling near 1500 units.

Somehow Alienware M14x does has a lot of problem using Dual HDD Caddy.
Google & you'll see lots of Alienware M14x users is having the same problem.

mafioso have you tried updating the BIOS to the latest version?

Some laptops especially HP & Compaq has grounding issues after using the Dual HDD Caddy.
Your laptop might be one of them.
