Problem resolved! rclxms.gif  Hoping it stays fixed.
Now my IP address shows on TM's speed test, unlike before.

Took me 6 calls, and 3 case numbers to solve my miscap.
8M package cap at 8072kbps.

One thing to note, TM speedtest is bull crap.
It measures the burst rate that the server can take. So if somehow traffic jam at server side and it receive a lot of data at 1 time, then it will burst very high. Very easy to detect, just download network meter. Upload rate is normal.
This is how TM is cheating people.

Their Unifi speedtest is ookla based, more reliable.

I've upgraded my 1mb to 4mb since January last year.
and after that I been having som problem when uploading stuff to the internet.

usually when I upload stuff I cannot surf any website.. all website will be hard to excess.
this is very frustrating becasue if I want to upload files that will takes 3-4 hrs means I cant
log into other website for 3-4hrs too T_T

also I used to stream my video on twitchtv and livestream when I had 1mb line and never has any problem.
but now I cant even stream anymore. all my game will get super high ping.

this is the ping if I uploaded or do livestream:

T_T
anyone know whats the problem?

Did you try to turn off your PC and just do a speedtest via phone?
perhaps something on your PC leeching all the connections causing the high pings.

the high pings only happen if I start uploading or do a live stream.
no high ping if I download stuff.

Check in the software that you used to do live stream, to limit the connection numbers to 500 or less.
With the 500kbps upload speed, that's the most you can. Some people recommend 350 max connections for optimum speed.

For uploads, limit upload speed to 80% of your max upload speed from speed test.

Glad you could resolve your miscap prob as well. It can be quite frustrating and took a fair bit of effort and patience.

I had used ookla too, and the dl speeds were always 100-400kbps lower than TM's speedtest. I had been preparing a formal complaint to the MCMC, and decided it was better to use screencaps of TM's own speed test in my complaint (less excuses for TM to fall back on)...it had gone as low as 1200-1300kbps at the worst point. Anyways all is well for now smile.gif

8M package cap at 8072, or 4M Package cap at 4096 constitutes a miscap.
If you are cap at you package speed, you will never get full speed. This is due to ADSL overhead. Generally, the cap has to be 20% above your package speed in order for you to get Max speed.

It is very hard to convince the techs this. Some CSR knows, but some ignore what you say to them. It used to be that the CSR is able to change the cap for you by contacting some of their internal teams. Now, only technicians are allowed to do it.

Is it possible to convince the technician to give me 8mb rate when they come to my place in this few days? Current rate is 2mb before I terminated 384kbps. I was opted for 4mbps but planning to upgrade to 8mb by the next month. Yet they haven't come to install. It has been 5 days .

Sorry, i don't understand.
You want 8M cap but you have 2M now. TM wanted to give you 4M and you plan to upgrade to 8M? rclxub.gif

how to limit upload speed to 80%?

for streaming using OBS use this setting?
*
I do not really know how to use OBS. Under 'Broadcast settings', try selecting 'Minimize network impact'
If this does not help, do try the software recommended by blacktubi, or you'd need to look for other software that is able to control network connections and uploads speeds for OBS.

Hi guys,

i just receive my 4mbps package and port. (took 4 days for them to change my port)

But why am i assigned to

Downstream Line Rate (Kbps): 4094
Upstream Line Rate (Kbps):          509

As i though that was for 2mbps user?

User who subscribe 4mbps should get a port of 5mbps which is

Downstream Line Rate (Kbps): 5xxx
Upstream Line Rate (Kbps):          509

Isn't that correct?

Consistenly receiving 350kb/s to 390kb/s or 2.8mbps to 3.12mbps < Not even 80% best effort speed lol...

Line miscap.
Need to ask TM to adjust. Maybe call your installer.

umm.. yeah.. about that.. i am too lazy to go to TM Point and ask them.  tongue.gif also I goddamn sure they have their reason that justify them to charge us those RM1.

It is for detailed billing for your landline use.
Since most of us dont use it, just remove it. Tm added it back even though i remove it after a package upgrade

what do u mean by 'detailed billing for landline use'?
*
Means it show you the list of calls you made using your landline.
If the Rm1 is remove, only shows total amount, no breakdown of what calls were made.
