Is there a big difference between UnifiLite 10Mbps vs Streamyx 8Mbps? Both on copper, isn't it?
*
Upload speed for unifi lite is 5mbps... adequate for most of the modern application nowadays. Compared to streamyx 8mbps with 512kbps upload speed. Nothing much can be done with that kind of speed.

Upgraded from 8Mbps to 10Mbps.

Unifi Lite is using VDSL which is a lot more stable than ADSL 2+. Less prone to D/C and fluctuation.

guys, my streamyx connection in my area very bad this past 2-3 months mostly due to cable putus (coz of monkey seriously). and whenever it happen, it will take TM almost 3 weeks to rectify it and i just feel that i pay for nothing this past 3 months.

my question, can i temporarily suspend my account (a bit sayang to terminate it coz its a promotional student package which i subscribe almost 8 years already). can u guys share the experience or maybe valid reason for TM to accept it?

and in mean time, wanna try unifi broadband package. if satisfy with it, i will cut the streamyx.

thanks in advance

no account suspend is allow but u can ask for a rebate for that three weeks.

u need to call tm and billing department for rebate. they will check the report u made about the cable putus and how long till it done repair. then they will prorate ur next bill.

prorate more less ur monthly bill divide by 30,and times day usage interrupted

there are a lot people who never claims this rebate for interrupter service, just make sure u make report every time there is service interruption

RT-N12 is a wireless router I supposed? Or do you mean DSL-N12?

They will provide a new VDSL modem router with Wireless AC. smile.gif

For my case, they reused the existing copper phone line.

It wouldn't work with Unifi Lite as this is not a VDSL modem.

It may work under ADSL mode but then you are not utilizing the VDSL advantage. laugh.gif

TM provided modem is better than this.

Can someone recommend me a streamyx adsl2+ router/modem that doesn't overheat/lag speed. I just bought TP-LINK TD-W8961N it's even worse than my old d'link. I have no issue using YouTube with my old 6+yr d'link but this tplink I am getting buffering.
