i figure it out myself. Because i know this is coming. It is unusual for car company to advertise internal crash test result as official result.

That is perhaps not the official communication. But after that was posted in the comment section, i open back the microsite, they change the picture. But the wording is still saying ANCAP. Today the change it completely.

I've guess ANCAP already communicated directly to Proton to change the advertising content.

I have to google out old screenshot with the wording. Those who direct link the image, will get the latest amended embedded to their post.

Because i certainly remember they advertise BOTH ANCAP and Asean NCAP as 5 star. And I certainly remember the first media briefing from Proton chief technology about the car for the engine, they also did mention ANCAP 5 star. From here i suspect the odd, but i assume they got green light from ANCAP themselves to use the internal result for advertising.

No. They not confuse. But marketing department make big mistake. And i can see proton is desperate to fight with Axia since suddenly Axia is using Asean NCAP as their marketing campaign.

As for the ANCAP result itself, yes the did scored 5 star, but internal test. Not the one ANCAP pick the car and test it. Paultan was invited, and they saw the ANCAP video.

The internal test is just like Preve before, internally 5 star ANCAP, but they did not use that as marketing only after the official result out 6-8 months later and refresh the whole line up of Preve with 6 airbags and VDC as standard.

It is certainly 5 star rated car. No doubt about it. But it was done internally. Just like Preve, exora. The only different, they not use it as marketing when it was tested internally. That is the mistake.

Australsian NCAP is very strict. I guess, Asean NCAP should do the same too. Why allow them to use as marketing when the result was not even out in Asean NCAP website?

Correct. It was internal test. The car is 5 star ANCAP. When they first made public statement on PCC, i was quite shock they put internal ANCAP result. So i guess ANCAP give Proton the green light. It turns out no.

There will be a media briefing today. I don't think its the comment alone. Proton probably get official communication from ANCAP, hence the amendment on the microsite.

No. Certified meaning it is published to the website. Just like exora before any ANCAP result, it was internally rated 4 star maximum euro ncap. Since they tested it internally at IDIADA facilities. But they never use it as marketing, but just mention it it is 4 star equivalent.

They said both ASEAN and Australasian NCAP is 5 star.

Yes. It is deliberate and intentional. From the Chief technical press release, from the microsite. The top management really want to have the 5 star rated to be selling point.

legit or not, Proton changed their microsite content from ANCAP to Asean NCAP only.

ASEAN NCAP is under MIROS malaysia. Test all cars produce in ASEAN region.

ANCAP and ASEAN NCAP is diferent. Asean NCAP only test frontal collison. ANCAP do more comprehensive test. So 4 star ASEAN NCAP doesnt mean it is 4 star ANCAP.

Proton did scored both 5 star in Asean NCAP and ANCAP (internally). Yes it is big deal to get the ANCAP rating rather than Asean NCAP.

Asean NCAP is lauya. Why? Because car not yet in the market, and result was not even publish yet, Perodua and Peroton already use it as marketing. But lucky for Perodua, after few days, ASEAN NCAP realease phase III result.
