QUOTE(ichi_24 @ Sep 7 2014, 09:20 PM) sos mana OP? proton can sue your ass too i figure it out myself. Because i know this is coming. It is unusual for car company to advertise internal crash test result as official result.

QUOTE(ichi_24 @ Sep 7 2014, 09:23 PM) why would somebody from ANCAP reply through website rather than make official statement? sounds fishy That is perhaps not the official communication. But after that was posted in the comment section, i open back the microsite, they change the picture. But the wording is still saying ANCAP. Today the change it completely. I've guess ANCAP already communicated directly to Proton to change the advertising content.

QUOTE(jimbet1337 @ Sep 7 2014, 09:28 PM) Where's the source of before / after images? Can't find those I have to google out old screenshot with the wording. Those who direct link the image, will get the latest amended embedded to their post. Because i certainly remember they advertise BOTH ANCAP and Asean NCAP as 5 star. And I certainly remember the first media briefing from Proton chief technology about the car for the engine, they also did mention ANCAP 5 star. From here i suspect the odd, but i assume they got green light from ANCAP themselves to use the internal result for advertising. This post has been edited by ruffstuff: Sep 7 2014, 09:32 PM

QUOTE(ichi_24 @ Sep 7 2014, 09:31 PM) ahhh i see mus be marketing bodoh confuse which ancap but seriously you've could landed with litigation from potong No. They not confuse. But marketing department make big mistake. And i can see proton is desperate to fight with Axia since suddenly Axia is using Asean NCAP as their marketing campaign. As for the ANCAP result itself, yes the did scored 5 star, but internal test. Not the one ANCAP pick the car and test it. Paultan was invited, and they saw the ANCAP video. The internal test is just like Preve before, internally 5 star ANCAP, but they did not use that as marketing only after the official result out 6-8 months later and refresh the whole line up of Preve with 6 airbags and VDC as standard. QUOTE(euthanasia @ Sep 7 2014, 09:55 PM) Got it. Official testing results need to come from the horses' mouth right? Mkting team jumped the gun and the jargons Tested but not rated lost in translation. But honestly, any advertising related material regarding any major product launch always go though management approval. And from my experience, nothing gets passed CEO, CFO, COO etc, even the smallest details will never be overlooked. someone need to be fired. I opened thread just to make it echo. Because many not notice this. Jangan harap kau boleh lepas la Proton.

QUOTE(kcchong2000 @ Sep 7 2014, 10:20 PM) Probably.... hahahhahaha. It also probably didn't get 4 stars also as probably can mean either way. When you report, please have some credibility, don't simply said. If you not yet tested, just said not yet tested, just like SPM, not yet get results, don't confidence said can get straight A's It is certainly 5 star rated car. No doubt about it. But it was done internally. Just like Preve, exora. The only different, they not use it as marketing when it was tested internally. That is the mistake. Australsian NCAP is very strict. I guess, Asean NCAP should do the same too. Why allow them to use as marketing when the result was not even out in Asean NCAP website? This post has been edited by ruffstuff: Sep 7 2014, 10:25 PM

QUOTE(razkal @ Sep 8 2014, 06:06 AM) If I can recall back, Preve was tested independently at the same crash test facility in Australia before the actual test when ANCAP select random cars from proton sold there. That is why they are confident about the rating. Refer to this news article. I think they did the same with the PCC. Just that the marketing team is very eager to advertise it and it isn't a professional thing to do as ANCAP hasn't done it officially. Correct. It was internal test. The car is 5 star ANCAP. When they first made public statement on PCC, i was quite shock they put internal ANCAP result. So i guess ANCAP give Proton the green light. It turns out no.

QUOTE(krizalid88 @ Sep 7 2014, 10:43 PM) so with only 1 random comment on the blog u guise belip they really ANCAP manager? lololol QUOTE(SamsengFan @ Sep 8 2014, 06:56 AM) Proton belip and they removed their statement. There will be a media briefing today. I don't think its the comment alone. Proton probably get official communication from ANCAP, hence the amendment on the microsite.

QUOTE(IluvProton @ Sep 8 2014, 07:08 AM) “Safety is very important and customers should know which car is safe and which is not. ANCAP differs from ASEAN NCAP as it takes everything into account, and we got five stars for that, so there is no issue for us,” Proton manufacturing and production COO, Khairudin Datuk Haji Yusoff told paultan.org in a recent interview paultantk can pre-ANCAP testing consider certified? No. Certified meaning it is published to the website. Just like exora before any ANCAP result, it was internally rated 4 star maximum euro ncap. Since they tested it internally at IDIADA facilities. But they never use it as marketing, but just mention it it is 4 star equivalent.

QUOTE(mousqy @ Sep 8 2014, 08:57 AM) butoh from comments oso take as truth dei baca betul. If the comment is not true, Proton will not change their content in the microsite. And Proton will have media briefing today. If proton did not change and stick with the original information, so i guess its ok for them to publish internal result and ANCAP give them green light.

QUOTE(cksiah @ Sep 8 2014, 09:08 AM) quite convenient to blame the marketing team if something goes wrong. but normally marketing get the information from the sales/tech team. they just do the design. plus all these are proof read before releasing to the media. so unless u tell me the marketing team in proton is special that they can just anyhow make up something and release it right away after they created the advertisement, i guess this was deliberate. a case of over eagerness from proton. Yes. It is deliberate and intentional. From the Chief technical press release, from the microsite. The top management really want to have the 5 star rated to be selling point.

QUOTE(TunaFish1990 @ Sep 8 2014, 03:01 PM) so in another word we dont need assuies to tell us whether we can put ncap 5 star or 6 star right? ANCAP and ASEAN NCAP is diferent. Asean NCAP only test frontal collison. ANCAP do more comprehensive test. So 4 star ASEAN NCAP doesnt mean it is 4 star ANCAP. Proton did scored both 5 star in Asean NCAP and ANCAP (internally). Yes it is big deal to get the ANCAP rating rather than Asean NCAP. Asean NCAP is lauya. Why? Because car not yet in the market, and result was not even publish yet, Perodua and Peroton already use it as marketing. But lucky for Perodua, after few days, ASEAN NCAP realease phase III result.
