Destiny is set in the 28th century in a post-apocalyptic setting. Humans spread and colonized the Solar System with the help of a spherical entity known as "the Traveler" who reshaped the universe and taught us new technologies and mystical powers that led to a time later called the Golden Age. An event known as "The Collapse", an attack from the Darkness that saw the dissolution of these colonies and left the human race on the brink of extinction. The only known survivors are those living on Earth, who were saved by the Traveler. The Traveler hovers above the last remaining human city, and its presence allows the Guardians of the City, the ability to wield an unknown power.

Destiny is a Sci-Fi Fantasy First Person Shooter. The player takes the role of a "Guardian" and must set foot in the wild frontier with your fireteam to defend the city and reclaim what has been lost. You are also partnered with your AI companion know as a "Ghost" (voiced by Peter Dinklage).

Bungie has labeled Destiny as a "Shared World Shooter". Players seamlessly matchmake with other Guardians, even when playing solo, and you can regularly witness other Guardians' adventures and may even combine efforts in the wild, together. Destiny borrows social elements from MMOs, and character creation/investment elements from RPGs. There are cooperative and competitive elements, but you can go alone, you're just not alone in this world.

Destiny also enhances the social aspect of gaming through the Destiny Companion, Cooperative, Public Events, Stats and discussion. Destiny incorporates a leveling system not only for the player, but for their weapons, gear, ships and loot streams. Players can choose to join Factions to fight against other Guardians in PvP or can choose to spend time "solo" where you can find exclusive loot.

Destiny is designed from the ground up to be better when you play it with your friends. You can have solitary cinematic experiences, but the game entices you to participate in cooperative events. Destiny is the first game of a brand new 10 year IP from Bungie. It requires an online connection, there is no offline play.

Players take on the role of a "Guardian" the defendants of the last safe city on earth. In Destiny, you can choose from different races (Human, Exo, Awoken) as well as Classes (Titan, Warlock, Hunter). While your race only impacts cosmetically, your class will impact your playstyle. Players can have up to three Guardian profiles on a single account, and you can use the "Vaults" in the Tower to trade items between your own Guardians.

Guardians have their own unique traits (Agile Hunters, Bestow Titans and Hovering Warlocks) as well as cosmetic distinctions (Hunter's Cape, Titan's Badge, Warlock's Bond)






Their lightning-charged fists will knock you off your feet. Their armor and shields make them nearly invincible. We like to think they are our faceless knights, protecting us from our countless enemies. But their power and resolve gives them the air of rising gods.

• STRIKER
  Smash the ground and dissolve enemies in a maelstrom of Arc Light.
• DEFENDER
  Shape Void Light into an indestructible shield to protect you and your allies from harm.

They’ve found a way to weaponize their curiosity, harnessing the Traveler’s light in patterns never before imagined. Warlocks are not passive scholars of the unknown. These are mystic warriors, capable of incredible acts of devastation.

• VOIDWALKER
  Hurl an explosive bolt of Void Light at the enemy, disintegrating those caught within its blast.
• SUNSINGER
  Fill yourself with Solar Light, dramatically increasing the effectiveness of all your abilities.

Quick on the trigger and deadly with a blade, Hunters stalk battlefields as if they were hunting prey. Cunning and ruthless, they prize the undiscovered and prepare for the unexpected, channeling their powers by intuition and gut instinct.

• GUNSLINGER
  Summon a flaming pistol which disintegrates enemies with Solar Light.
• BLADEDANCER
  Charge your blade with Arc Light and consume your foes with lightning.

At launch, players will be able to visit these locations. Each location includes one "explorable" play space, several story missions, strikes and crucible maps. Players will come across other live players while exploring to meet up with or pass by. The only exception of Mercury, which has only been announced to only have one Crucible Map "Burning Shrine". Mercury is not fully explorable like the other destinations.





Our home. After the Darkness swept over us, we found the Traveler where it made its last stand. Beneath, we built The City – our last – within its protective aura. From here, Guardians stand watch, defend our civilization, and strike out into the wild frontiers of Earth – and beyond – to reclaim our lost worlds.






Like Earth, the ruins of humanity's former glory can be found scattered across the familiar lunar surface. Recent exploration attempts have been repulsed, reporting increased enemy activity, and even strange tectonic phenomenon. The City has since classified the Moon as a "Forbidden Zone,” open only to our most brave and experienced Guardians.






Venus was once the site of great discovery – a paradise. Now, it is a monument to all that we have lost. The old stories say we built an academy dedicated to learning and research on the shore of a wondrous sea, and that the waters themselves boiled and rose up to shatter the coast, washing away all that we had built.






What little we know of Mars may as well be a myth. We built a massive metropolis in the red dust. The Darkness swept nearly all of it away; the sand itself claimed the rest. No one knows what remains of our lost age, now buried beneath the dunes.

• Fire Team- Destiny's cooperative elements are broken to it's most basic form "Fire Teams". A Fire Team consists of three players where you can choose to tackle Destiny's game quests and competitive multiplayer together. Some gamemodes feature coordination of multiple Fire Teams.
  
• Focus - Your Guardian will specialize in Focus that will determine your class specific abilities. Each category within a Focus can be upgraded as you advance through it's skill tree. Some Foci have a minimum player level to unlock them. They are the primary way to level and improve your Guardian in the form of a subclass. Each focus has a leveling system from 1-20. Within these levels comes a tier system in which you can choose how you want your focus to turn out, obtaining unique abilities along the way.
  
• Private Loot Stream - You don't have to worry about your buddies or strangers stealing your loot. Destiny's loot system is built so you only find rewards that are meant for you. Loot can be found in all gamemodes. In Crucible, you will attain loot at the end of a game. In Explore, Strikes, Raids and Story you can find loot boxes for you and your fireteam. They may be in a different location should you return.
  
• Character Progression - Your Guardian will be the Guardian you use across all your gamemodes. You can create up to three Guardians on a single PSN account. Choose your class and race and unlock abilities for your Guardian as you rank up.
  
• Public Events - In public spaces, you will come across "Public Events" which are are missions for any Guardian (regardless of Fire Team) that choose to participate. These events only occur when there are enough active players in a play space at designated times. You gain experience and rewards for your Guardian if you choose to take part.
  
• Sparrow - Each Guardian will be able to spawn a Sparrow (mobile transport vehicle) that you can use to get around in public spaces quicker. You can upgrade your Sparrow at the tower to more advanced control schemes and cosmetic looks. The Sparrow has no guns attached, only for transport.
  
• Active Roster - Bungie's way for you to see what friends are online for you at a glance. This is within your start menu. You can see who is in your FireTeam, who is on your friends list, and who is in the same playable space with you. This is built in-game so you don't have to leave to your dashboard to invite a friend to play.
  
• Hidden Ghosts - Throughout Explore, Strikes, Raids, Missions and the Tower, there are hidden ghosts to be found in the most unlikely of locations. Each one counts towards your Grimoire score and can include bits of lore found when reading Grimoire Cards.
  
• Grimoire Score - Bungie's active progression system that keeps track of all kills with weapon/style/supers on enemy types and mixed scenarios (including hidden ghosts, vehicle kills and much more). Each "tier" of Grimoire scales up in points and your Grimoire Score is a running total of ALL your Guardians on your account, which can be found in game, through the companion app or on bungie.net.
  
• Clan Support - Destiny incorporates Clan Support when tied to your Clan on bungie.net. Destiny is designed to be played with friends, join up or start your own.
  
• Achievements/Trophies - List of Achievements/Trophies for Destiny.

the extra dlcs on the physical copy only comes on the special editions - Limited Edition & Ghost Edition. Standard Edition is pretty much all barebones. Digital Guardian Edition comes with most of the extra stuffs that you can get if you check the post above by Ninja.

I am (2), Buying Physical...while I enjoyed the Alpha and Beta very much, I only liked the PVE missions.
I sucked at PVP - Crucible...always kena 'crucified'
So need to try out and see first...cos many other games coming too Far Cry 4, Inquisition, etc.

I also suck at crucible, can never get the highest kills. I enjoy more the PVE/Co-op plays more. I just hope the play experience can be enjoyed for a long time

Just fyi, there will be players that using special devices that allow them to play the game with a mouse and keyboard. MP modes will be slightly hard with them around unless they really suck

I'll try to think that everytime I get owned.

How is there a difference, suppliers can only bring in either Standard Edition, Limited Edition or Ghost Edition. I don't see any that brings in Standard but with extra goodies on it. Same goes for R3 versions.

Well there was 2 version for last of us... There was an R3 with DLC and an all region (advertise as R3) with no DLC but could us DLC for all other region which was cheaper.

For those who don't know. Destiny requires an internet connection to play even on the campaign story mode.

So, don't come here & say "OMG! Destiny need to be always online!".

So far it is confirm that region R1 and R2 only have the vanguard preorder bonus. Not sure bout R3. Or could be Impulse and Heavyarm forgot to update their prices or will be refunded.

oh man.. didnt do proper research before buying the Asia Set Glacial White bundle.. and now am losing out on the vanguard armory dlc due to the game being R3... i iz sadding

don't be sad, those armory can be obtain in game, just these are the bonus for preorder. It just gave us earlier perks that's all...

Your gears are constantly changing, So you can be playing for one whole day and pretty much change out all of your vanguard sets to something better already.

6 And either Click as Set as Playstation Clan (ON LAUNCH DAY) BY ONLY DOING SO. you will be a clan member and only benefit from it.

MY/US PSN here. Getting my ps4 bundle latest on 15/9

Still wondering, those that bought the digital edition R1, do you get any extra to download to unlock the vanguard armory?

whcih server will you all be playing? US or MY?

There is no R3 digital for MY PSN.

This Vanguard Armory is already in the game. If there is anything to download wait when it is launched. Only thing that is able to preload is games not dlc as far as I know.
