Conclusion

AVF Gaming Freak II Gaming mouse round up review has come to an end. There is 3 type of common grip style when using a gaming mouse, Palm Grip, Finger Grip and Claw Grip. Each of the mouse models have different type of grips and design to help user find the right mouse to fit with their hands. The cord is braided with nylon. Braided cable is a must for gaming mouse but at the same time it must be very flexible and this mouse is built in with Ferrite bead to suppress high frequency noise in electronic circuits from the USB to the mouse. There are total of 6 buttons on each of the model that can be custom configure with 3rd party softwares, Eg X-Mouse Button Control as AVF does not provide the mouse with software as it just plug and play mouse. The DPI of the mouse can easily change with just a click on the middle top of the mouse which makes it easy for user, especially when playing 3rd shooting game from high DPI for swift move to low DPI for accuracy. As the price tag is ranged from RM39 to RM49, this would the best mouse for a user that seek budget gaming mouse which support up to 3000DPI Laser driver. Great work AVF!

I brought the AVF Gaming Freak II AGM-X6 gaming mouse on 20/04/14 for RM69 at my local computer shop. I've been using the mouse ever since to replace my Apple Green 3D Series mouse, which I forgot the model which I brought for RM25 at the end of 2010.

Around July 2014, I noticed that the AVF Gaming Freak II AGM-X6 gaming mouse would sometimes disconnects & connects back to the computer. At first I ignored the symptoms, as I thought that my USB port on my computer was problematic hmm.gif But around 08/09/14, the gaming mouse would frequently disconnects & connects back to the computer, worst than before cry.gif After troubleshooting the gaming mouse by plugging into different USB ports & computers, I found out that the gaming mouse cable was broken inside as when I try bending the cable coming from the outside of the gaming mouse, near the gaming mouse itself, the gaming mouse would disconnects & connects back to the computer shocking.gif cry.gif

Now I can't do my work productively & play my favorite games competitively on my computer, as I heavily rely on my mouse for such tasks. It's such a shame that such a well designed & cheap gaming mouse suffers from durability issues from my experience & others (Internally broken cable & right click button issue) sweat.gif doh.gif

My previous Apple Green 3D Series mouse, which costs less than my AVF Gaming Freak II AGM-X6 gaming mouse is cheaper & more durable even though it is not a gaming mouse & it was not advertised as a gaming mouse, although the Apple Green 3D Series mouse did suffer the durability of its mouse wheel after a few months, but not its cable which is a major durability issue sweat.gif doh.gif

3. Durable mouse except for it's mouse wheel.

Cons:
1. Noisy left & right mouse button clicks.
2. Not durable mouse wheel.
3. Not so good mouse DPI button design; the button keeps stuck if pressed to hard.
4. Not so good mouse button 4 & mouse button 5 design; the buttons keeps stuck if pressed to hard.

AVF Gaming Freak II AGM-X6 gaming mouse:

Performance/Price Value: 3.5/5

Overall: 3.43/5

Pros:
1. Gold plated USB.
2. Nylon corded gaming mouse.
3. Attractive design.
4. The most comfortable & ergonomic gaming mouse for large right handed palm gamers that I've encountered.
5. Silent left & right mouse button clicks (silent death button).
6. The left & right mouse buttons are adequately sensitive; Not a lot of force & displacement is required to push the buttons to register a click.
7. Works across all smooth surfaces I've encountered, even though there are a few rough surface where the mouse fails to operate perfectly.

Cons:
1. Not durable gaming mouse cable.
2. The mouse wheel is a bit noisy while scrolling.
3. The mouse button is noisy while clicking.
4. Fails to operate perfectly across a few rough surfaces that I've encountered.

Wishlist:
1. More durable gaming mouse cable.
2. Silent mouse wheel.
3. Silent mouse button.
4. Operates perfectly on all rough surfaces.
5. Controllable internal LED illumination lights; ON, OFF, colors & brightness.
6. Can adjust mouse weight.
7. Can adjust mouse length, width & hight.
8. Comes with a choice for a wired and/or wireless gaming mouse mode; unplug the cable from the mouse to change form wired to wireless gaming mouse mode using Bluetooth/wireless.
9. AVF provides its own software at its website to use/adjust/control with the gaming mouse.

shah93 I guess I can't get a return merchandise authorization (RMA) for my AVF Gaming Freak II AGM-X6 gaming mouse as I'm now over the 3 month warranty period? unsure.gif sad.gif

Apple Green 3D Series mouse (I forgot the model):

Price:  RM25
Purchase Date:  End of 2010
Usage Duration:  End of 2010 - 20/04/14 (Approximately 4 years)

Shape & Design:  2.5/5
Performance:  3/5
Durability:  3/5
Materials:  2.5/5
Specifications:  2.5/5
Appearance:  2/5
Performance/Price Value:  3/5

Overall:  2.64/5

Pros:
1. Comfortable for right handed palm users.
2. Works across all rough & smooth surfaces I've encountered, even though it's only an optical mouse.

Price:  RM69
Purchase Date:  20/04/14
Usage Duration:  20/04/14 - 08/09/14 (4 months 20 days)

Shape & Design:  3.5/5
Performance:  4/5
Durability:  2.5/5
Materials:  3.5/5
Specifications:  3.5/5
Appearance:  3.5/5

*
Thank you to the AVF GamingFREAK fans
The mouse was overwhelming as it has been sold 26k in 3batches on particular AGM X6.
We pressured factory for each batch delivery on time due to overwhelmed demand since Jan 2014
Those affected batch user has unlimited warranty claim. Or may exchange to AGM X8 as it same price with X6

Pm us to arrange for RMA

i believe you cannot send for RMA without the receipt but try to go to their place and ask if they still can accept for it
yes i know what you mean, that mean you cannot drag your mouse to highlight several items at once xD

Yes, I have. But nevermind already, my brother also bought 1 from nearby shop, I used his receipt and claim warranty from the shop. But seems like the X4 ran out of stock, so I settled for an X3 instead. Now can back to my gaming. brows.gif

I consider AVF as a cheapo brand with questionable quality in the same league of Genius, PowerLogic, SonicGear, iCute and etc.

Not expecting any of its product to maintain reliability after 6 months.

I just bought the X4 to replace my Logitech M100, the cheapest Logitech (RM19.90). So my first impression is the mouse looks great, and the dpi works nicely. However, there are 2 things that I'm not satisfied with.

First, the RMB is dead silent, but not the LMB, but I can live with it.

Second, the button side of the mouse is not balanced. when I click the RMB the bottom left side of the mouse is lifted. This really spoil my gaming experience and I kind of regret buying this instead of buy another M100

Edit: Forgot to add, the mouse works badly on my table, without mousepad. The table is solid blue color with smooth surface (the M100 can run on it without a problem).

Just bought an X series mouse yesterday, particularly the X7. Feels mighty awesome in the hand and you can see how much thought has been poured into making the mouse. I love it!

Quick question, since at the back of the box said it only covers 3 months warranty, should the mouse encounter problems after the third month mark, can I still claim warranty? I live in Kuching,Sarawak btw. Are there any AVF center around my area? Thanks!

For the 3rd batch, the RMA is unlimited and lifetime warranty until the 4th batch is replaced.
Yes there is AVF Centre in Sarawak but you can pos the item directly to HQ at KL if you want to request for RMA

My bro bought his X6 2-3 months back, while i bought my X5 2 weeks ago. Personally I love the mouse a lot because its damn silent. I dont find any other gaming mouse silent enough for me. You can still feel the clicks at your finger tips but minus the clicky sound that will ruin your gaming experience. (at least, my gaming experience)

Just 3 weeks ago, my brother realised his X6 was facing this frequent "connect & disconnect" issue, and we found out the problem was caused by the cable, Particularly that part where the cable connects into the mouse. So what we did was we dismantle it, cut off that portion, reconnect those wires, viola its working fine again.

For my X5, i bought the AGH-04 mouse bungee to hold the cable hoping there will be no cable drag to decrease the cable's life span. 2 weeks have passed and its still working good (at least for up till this point it is)

just remove the screws, cut off that faulty part (in my case it was the circled part in my previous picture), then reconnect those wires (theres 3 in total) accordingly like the picture below. Btw the screws are hidden under those black thing at the bottom of your mouse thats suppose to make your mouse move smoothly on your table.
Attached Image

Since I cut off that black plastic thingy which is supposed to hold your cable in place, i used hot glue to glue it onto the mouse to make sure it stay firmly on where its suppose to be.
Attached Image

But you can always try bringing it back to AVF for RMA (if its still under warranty of course).

Unfortunately i dont know how to know which batch is on the store or bought by the user
For the 3rd batch user, they will have unlimited number of RMA/Exchange in case the mouse faulty

I bought my X5 on 17/12/2014.Attached Image
After I use for 1 month, the mouse start to not function well, the mouse will keep disconnect and connect again. (It cause me died many time while I am playing DotA, as the mouse disconnect and I lost control of my hero during the fight. This really pissed me off.) And today 28/1/2015, my X5 is no longer function. I plug in my mouse, and my laptop pop out with this notification. Attached Image

At 1st I saw the price was RM39, it was really cheap. Silent click is also great. But the duration is so horrible.

I got one X5 two months ago and i was really satisfied with it. Silent click is awesome.

However, I have experienced cable disconnection issues until my laptop short circuits and shuts down. THAT serious. I still have my 1 year warranty tho.

bought X6 last year at a retail shop in malacca, love the design, love the functions, especially the silent click. The first week, i love this mouse, would marry it if its legal but came second week, the cable starts to produce problems. Disconnects in the middle of a game, disappoints me much. Ask for exchange at the retail shop, left it for a week at the shop, and they said there is nothing wrong with the mouse. I proceed to use it at my laptop, and the problem is still around (my usb port are all well and i already test it with my old mouse and other device). I proceed with bury the mouse as the mouse is not function as i want... Can i ask for RMA from you? The receipt and the mouse is still with me.

Yes you can get up to 8 choices of different mouse size and design, pick which one suite your best!
For durability issue, there's really less return RMA(in fact i already sold about 40unit and no RMA issue until now)
since the new batch already fixed previous batch durability issue.

This mouse does not have macro function
but you can use 3rd party software to change 2 buttons on the left side of the mouse

Software: X Mouse Button Control
Download site: http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm

hello, my AVF X1 died a few months ago after a few months of usage, the cable is broken it keeps disconnecting itself when I move the mouse around.

So yesterday I bought a new one (X3), but the led blinks slower, the brightness is way too dark compared to the X1 when i put it side to side.

then I found out only one LED is working because the left side of the mouse is too dark without any light. the mouse color only changes in one color, when it's red it's all red, when it's blue, all blue.

the problem is I bought it from a shop in selangor and took a flight back to my hometown last night, so I can't really bring it back to the shop. But I have the receipt and all.

can I contact avf instead. any hulpz?

Hi everyone and shah93 in particular. Thanks shah for your answer all way back from the start of the thread. It is really helpful and giving me some hope and hopefully you can respond to my question.

I bought the X-4 from viewnet at lowyat plaza on 15th April 2015. And in September actually, my mouse got this connect & disconnect problem and finally it cannot connect at all to my pc. I did try to other pc but still cannot connect.

So I just keep it in my closet and use the older mouse, but until recently that I really missed this X-4 mouse so much. So I came across this thread and thinking whether I can RMA my mouse back. I am not sure whether my mouse is from 3rd batch or not.

I did call AVF directly but she recommends me to turn my mouse back to viewnet, but viewnet only accept return within 1 month after purchase.

So can you help me in this case?

Thanks and have a nice day.

The problem is, there are cheaper, generic mice that are more durable than this.

And also, Razer is not an example of quality mouse as well biggrin.gif

I bought AVF x4 6D laser mouse a few month ago. I recently are busy working hard so no testing well on it. I meet the problem that i press several time sometime are no respond on my press. Mostly press it 10 times, there 2 times are miss. I check my pc with other mouse and try the x4 plug to other computer, both is work perfectly. I try too with mouse button switch primary & 2nd, then the problem go to right click. Can you help solve the problem ? bangwall.gif icon_question.gif

Bought the AVF X4 from Aeon. Pleasantly surprised by the built quality especially for such an affordable price. The RGB lights are very nice and not too bright. It's been 2 weeks now and the silent buttons - both left and right - still work like a charm. I've been using it a lot for LoL and the 4th and 5th buttons have been assigned to the 'D' and 'F' (using the free X-mouse button control software). It's not 3 months yet but so far so good.

In fact, I'm loving it!

I bought AVF X6 a month ago...

The left click button went kaput straight away after I plug it in and started using it. You have to click using the higher end of the button on near the wheel for the click to register.

Still ok for a day to day uses.. but started become crazy troublesome when I need to shoot a few demons or fighting Cyberdemon in Doom.

Also can't wait to have it replaced so I go and get my self a Logitech G502 the next day.

I had got two Razer DeathAdder that die on me just after six months of usage.

One with a faulty left click (one click becomes double click unintentionally) and the other one with both the faulty left click and also the wheel button...

You are one very lucky guy for having the same Razer serving you for 3 years already...

I'm using my AVF X6 Mouse till todate. I'm really hardcore user of mouse. Ever since RMA back from 23rd December 2014 (my one part of batch 3 issue), the mouse still serve me well...

Hi, can you recommend me a mouse for normal use?
I don't play games. Just use it for work and surfing. That's all.
Budget below RM40
