I saw user feedback left on whatsapp official site in the WP section that says the app lacks feature. I dont know if the user meant whatsapp itself or the version for WP..if it's the latter, can you tell me what features it's missing from android version?

Yes, you can.

1. Create a new folder within the Photos hub (e.g. whatsapp mp3s).
2. Copy any song from ur music folder into that new folder.
3. Rename it from *.mp3 to *.mp4
4. Go to whatsapp, send an attachment (select video).
5. Select the songs within the folder u created earlier. Dont worry, it will detect as a video, but the receiver will detect as an mp3 song file.
6. Send.

It's actually pretty feature complete functionality wise for quite a while now. Of course I am never a heavy Whatsapp user to use some of the more gimmicky stuff, in fact it annoys me when there are friends who treat it like facebook/twitter and broadcast stuff to all their friend list. Makes me keep getting notification for unimportant messages

Good to know that. There was a problem loading old messages before, is the problem still there?
Ps - if the mute feature doesn't ease the pain of over-active stupid whatsapp group, LEAVE! That's what I do. To hell with what they gonna say.

How old? my currently oldest message was from two weeks ago since I just reflashed my phone from Windows 10 mobile technical preview(didn't bothered to backup). I have no problem reading those.

Thanks for the heads up on this.
I'm a heavy Whatsapp user and thot about migrating to window phone.
The sales person did NOT tell me there are differences between android and window with regards to this.

Hopefully, there is simplfied info graphics highlighting the differences? hmm.gif

I use both Android and Windows Phone, with WP being my primary phone and the Android being a backup. I cannot tell if Whatsapp between the two differ in any way, so it looks like whatever the Android app can do, the WP app also can. The only difference now is that WP Whatsapp doesn't have the middle finger emoji, but I don't think you'd be using that for work anyway. Hahaha tongue.gif

One thing that I find WP version lacking is to directly send message to a new number.
I need to add the new number into phonebook first and then wait for it to appear in whatsapp.

Is everyone the same? Or do I miss something?

Isn't it the same across all WhatsApp platforms? I've always had to add contact to my phonebook and then WhatsApp will sync from there.
Same for both my WP and Android.

Is that direct messaging thing an iOS feature?

I need to add the person into my contact list first on Android as well. Unless whatever Android phone you are using are running an outdated version that doesn't require that. I can imagine that WhatsApp on it's initial stage only need you to enter the number, then later updated to require Contacts for better management.
