IMHO DVI is easier to manage compared to HDMI when it comes to PC monitors,
I've had weird issues (underscanning, grainy image) plugging HDMI to HDMI from Radeon to a samsung HDMI monitor, but the DVI appears hassle free and gives the best image results.
Best is to get one which gives you both options, DVI and HDMI, which is becoming rare these days.
Try both DVI to DVI and HDMI to HDMI and judge for yourself.
The reason I've gotten the HDMI was for the sake of a PS 3, which has now become redundant.
Need help with choosing a new monitor., About VGA + DVI + HDMI
