Getting Started

|
Help me settle a discussion. Is it better to put an aircond compressor on an exposed ledge or wall (better air circulation at night, but in full sun during the day) or on a covered balcony (cooler during the day, but somewhat restricted airflow at night).
In our case, the airconds would be running at night only (unless hazy weather necessitating closed windows).
And if the balcony has maybe 2 compressors running at the same time, will the balcony become too hot to sit comfortably?
Thanks!

Thanks! the difference could be neglected since it does not effect that much but fyi, putting the aircond compressor around the balcony will make the balcony hot when it is running

Far bit from ur bed is better. Eventually the compressor will wear n hum regardless wat brand n price...
Put at edge since only open at nite. This will make ur balcony usable if u wan...

Nowadays inverter compressor where got hot like conventional runing hot like no tomorrow, even after wash cloth and put over few minute there is dryer, recent inverter type may runing with weather condition, when too hot will be spin motor like JET sound after cooling day would run in low speed.. From the hot air for exhaust out also become less n warm only. This post has been edited by kimsim: Sep 6 2014, 07:57 AM

If only run at night, put at place with good air circulation, if you consider having to switch on day time with share is good facing north or south is also better because you don't hit direct sunlight.

Inverter or not, it still use heat exchange concept, the better the air circulation and cooler surrounding area the faster and more efficient it run. If you put two or more in a bad air circulation place even inverter will take time to cold the internal area.

For latest apartment or condo unit should come with Aircon ledge.
