Even MBB diff branch has diff procedure.  shakehead.gif  One branch accept my cheque and issued FD cert. same day. Another branch said wait for cheque to clear first (2 days later) before issue FD cert but count from the day I was there.

But for your case, you should be able to use it to place the FD, just a matter of when you can get the FD cert.  hmm.gif

May I ask how do apply for the 3.87% FD?

Can I do it over Maybank2u online or have to go to the branch myself?

What do I need to do?

At the moment I have FD in both CIMB and MBB but the rates is nowhere near 3.87%

What is the min amount to deposit?

Yes, it is Mubeen printed on the left bottom side of the FD cert
I do not like the complicated T & C either.. Ah Goat sad.gif
But no choice, I have to study this since my hair is already wet..
No lah.. only one PB in SCB  sweat.gif
Because now many people go for FD instead of investment products, including our Uncle Magic.. biggrin.gif
That time I also asked for the 3.87% FD flyer from May bank, but they said they did not have it.

To be the biggest bank in Malaysia..? Wish them good luck la..

1. the 3.87%, as per the previous posts (just scroll up) may have ended.

2. you need to go to any mbb branches to enquire if it's still available.

3. min is dependent on the branches (between rm25k - 50k).

4. why don't you scroll up & a few pages back or go to the 1st page, post #2 where sifu BCC is kind enuf to summarise =

"May Bank, valid until 31 October - (New added by bbgoat on 3 Oct & updated by bbgoat & haur on 7 Oct)
3.87% for 3 months
First 2 mths 3.7% and 3rd mth 4.2%, average 3.87%
Minimum FD deposit fresh fund RM 25K or RM 50K?
*Fresh fund must be from RHB, CIMB & MBSB..?"

you dun hv to post twice if u do your own "handwork"; even the sifus dun wanna reply your post.

luckily for you, this small fart took pity on you by replying lah...  smile.gif

Thanks Giko for teaching the small uninitiated like me, i did read through the whole thread, maybe due to my poor reading comprehension, I failed to capture the info from it.

Hence asking questions here.

I will enquiry from the nearest MBB branch on Monday. I am unable to ask earlier is due to i just bump into this thread and found out this offer last night.

Hi to all sifus here, i just check with MBB, their 3.7% & 3.87% FD promo is still valid till End of Oct.

I can only check with them under the counter as they do not promote it openly. Min amount is 25k and tenure can set from 1 - 12 mths.

One thing that i ask they did not reply me back (or they are confuse) is they want fresh funds from the 3 banks in order to get the promo rate entitlement, but did not specified if i can use the fund bank into my existing account to get the rate.

Any sifu here can advise me on the fresh fund questions?

EDIT : the 3.7% FD is open to all bank, promo 9th Oct till 31st Oct (or quota reach, whichever come first)
the 3.87% FD is ONLY for the "3" banks, promo 1st Oct - 31st Dec brows.gif

EDIT 2 : If any of sifu wants the info kindly PM me, MBB refuse to give me a hardcopy of the promo, say only for internal staff reference, they only allow me to snap a pic of it.

hahaha, you don't have to quote the entire post, "cut" lah the section not applicable to what you are replying.

And thank you too for letting me know you appreciate my "hard"work" published at my blog  laugh.gif And since you do read my blog, just bookmark the Fixed Deposit page and check out current FD Promos before you place any FD. And since you follow my Facebook Page, you will be informed when I'm overseas, that's when you may not need to go check my Fixed Deposit Page but better come here and read post#2 and be bombarded with all kinds of FD promos, hahaha.

Bro, earning several thousands Ringgit by FD depends lah how much the principal and this thread has many loaded people [but they claim to drive Proton (magika and BoomChaCha) and Kancil (bbgoat)]. What I meant earlier is I am going to share how one can earn "extra" several thousand Ringgit by placing a 3 month FD (versus all the current FD promotions listed in Post#1 and 2) with a certain bank. But in order to earn the extra RM1K in 3 months, the Principal sum needs to be minimum RM300K.
Bro, the 4% upfront is good! Updated Post#1.

And usually Maybank promos are applicable to non-individuals too but it may end earlier if quota is met.

bbgoat - your MBB contact useless lah, never inform what MGM reported tongue.gif
*
I dunno why we are getting different info, well I got mine direct from a MBB branch today.
CS refuse to give me a hardcopy. so I only manage to take a pic.

Bro, MGM did specifically mentioned "under counter". Yours must be over counter, hahaha.
Bro, I don't think so. Previously they were offering 3.85%. So, now 4% is not a surprise. Looks like it's time for me to finally go get Maybank Premier Wealth Banking Status so can jump queue at Maybank.
*
How to differentiate between over or under the counter deal?

When I ask for the FD, they refer to that piece of paper I snap with and they are reluctance to let me hold the paper. rclxub.gif

Yes, if the Principal Sum is substantial, upfront dividend is very good as can use the dividend to place another FD.
Yes, that day you went to MBB using your Chauffeur's Kancil and park in the Private Banking designated parking lot because your Bentley Continental GT was being serviced  wink.gif

Aiseh man, so many rich uncle here, i only able to ride kapchai to work everyday and not sure when can get premier banking like u all. cry.gif

Can say that again, I noticed many uncles have priority/private banking status at multiple banks meaning definitely millionaire in cash terms. notworthy.gif

I am struggling to achieve it in 2 banks.
By the way, besides the JustOne priority 4% promo and free coffee, what other benefits are there for SCB?
Hopefully the quota doesn't run out by 20th sweat.gif

Thats why like a post said earlier, their money like grow from tree one.... can put money into FD anytime, anywhere. cry.gif

I m still struggling to pool my cash together to get the Maybank FD promo.

I called MBB "funding executive" who is supposed to give me SMS on promo's. She is off for one week. Initially wanted to complain why did not SMS me, is it because of the kancil that I drive (next time borrow Captain's luxury car and park right in front of the bank).  tongue.gif

Called another MBB branch's funding exec. She confirmed the following:

3 mth FD promo is 3.87% (step up), min 50k

12 mth FD 4% with upfront interest re-started yesterday 13/10, min 25k

So don't understand the 3 mth 3.95% reported earlier.

Some more the MBB leng lui told me the rate is for special customer only. She will get mgr approval for me.  hmm.gif She even asked me on my name to confirm who is this fellow (ai, drive kancil ma).  tongue.gif

For the 3.95% FD promo, that means MGM is a special customer? brows.gif

If you drive kancil also kena this kind of treatment, then my kapchai can park far far away liao. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Oct 14 2014, 05:01 PM)
I just came back from a MBB branch instead of Premier Wealth Centre or Premier Wealth Lounge (I got no idea what is the diff between PWC and PWL), and too bad did not manage to catch your earlier reply to my post.

Asked the MBB staff at reception counter and was shown the FD promos reported here. When I asked her about 4% Islamic Upfront, she had no idea and referred me to an Officer. When I saw the Officer, I immediately asked about 4% Islamic Term Deposit. She asked me how I knew about it, I said from friend. She then asked me I'm depositing cash (I was dressed like a VCD seller - wearing T-Shirt, slippers and having a sling bag, hahahaha) or funds from which bank? I said any bank also can (as if), then she said how about CIMB, aiyah, that bank I have no account  doh.gif , hahaha. So, I said I have RHB, she then only disclose that there is indeed a 4% upfront Islamic Term Deposit for funds from RHB, CIMB and MBSB.
Anyway, I asked the Officer how the 4% works. She said the dividend will be credited into CASA immediately. I then asked what if my cheque have yet to be cleared (I was under the impression that I can use my Personal RHB Cheque but did not confirm if this was possible), she said she will hold the cert for 2 days (which means she is aware I 'm using Personal Cheque because if I were to give her RHB Banker's Cheque, sure okay ma).
*
Lets say if i deposit 50k for the Islamic Term deposit, they credit 2k into my fund on the spot right?

at any one point during the one year period, can i uplift the FD?

Just trying to place the MBB 4% upfront interest FD using CIMB bankers cheque but seems so troublesome. They don't seem to be eager to accept my FD. Initially keep saying no such FD, then say quota finished without even checking. vmad.gif Probably they don't prefer small money from small fry like me  cry.gif

Ask them to check again then only ask me to fill up form. After fill up form then say need to wait for the cheque to clear so ask me deposit inside my SA first then come back to apply again on Monday.

All this while keep saying only can open if quota still available and keep pushing why not put into the 3 month FD instead.

If they delay again the FD on Monday I probably will just withdraw the money to put in UOB then  sad.gif

Alliance Bank never had FD promos for a long long time, so quite unlikely to go for their cards.

Now hopefully no surprises for the Maybank under table 4% promo on Monday 20 Oct.I will also try showing my CIMB cheque book but what if we transfer the funds into Maybank account, will it still be considered fresh funds for Maybank?
*
I can clarify that their promo is still valid for next week coz i just went to ask them today.
