I want to do home recording. Basically, a guitar and a mic. Before this I've been doing cover and record myself using the build in mic in phone.

So I've decided to buy an audio interface. There's so many option, but since I'm a student and on quite a tight budget, I really need you guys to help so that I can buy the most fine if not great for my hobby without having to damage my pocket.

This is in my list;

Behringer UMC22
Yamaha Audiogram 3
Line 6 UX2
Steinberg UR22

Line 6 is the most expensive here. About 650. The reason why this is in my list is because of the software. The pod farm. Is there any similar software that I can use with a cheaper audio interface?

The Behringer are the cheapest here. If I choose this one, the extra money that I got can be used to purchase a condenser mic. Or else I'm gonna use a cheap dynamic mic first, maybe get the condenser on the future.

Steinberg UR22 just came into picture. So don't really know that much.

Yamaha Audiogram 3. Can't find a really good review on this one. Mostly a normal feedback if not bad. But there's someone willing to sell it at cheaper price.

So, as a beginner who only record guitar plus vocal, avoid latency and I wanted to record it simultaneously, which of this is suitable for an entry level guy like me.

Btw, some of it have direct monitoring some of it don't. What is it really?

Pls help. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Thanks. Out of my budget, but not that much since it's complete for an entry level gear. Interface, condenser mic & headphone. But I prefer Focusrite Scarlett Studio Bundle than that. Thanks again.

Now Scarlett 2i2 come in into picture. Damn susah making decision. sweat.gif

Get any audio interface but not Tascam product. They are worst ever to operate in new operating system.

Thank you guys for suggestion. Already bought the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and Behringer C1 condenser microphone. thumbup.gif Quite nice. Still got alot to do on my side. Need to study the DAW software. sweat.gif For the interface and condenser alone, it produce a really good quality recording. No latency. thumbup.gif

Btw, this are 2 samples I've recorded using the gears I've bought. One with the guitar plugged in to the interface while I sang directly to the mic while the other one using unplugged acoustic guitar and recorded using the condenser mic alone. Hope this can help noobies like me who are planning to get an entry level gears. Just to give an idea.

Sorry for the crap recording. tongue.gif Just upload it to show to the guy that help me, and why not I share it here. whistling.gif
