Bro, here's one idea that could work for you. Using a lowered ceiling specifically over your island. Doesn't have to be as thick or big as this since this kitchen has a tall ceiling. I'd do something in reclaimed wood and then a single statement pendant light or a small cluster. Because the view from the entrance to the kitchen goes immediately towards that window, you want to anchor the space with a statement.
