i think the way the team plays depends on the type of striker we have up front. with giroud the midfield has to start and end attacks, because giroud aint gonna run onto through passes. they'll have to constantly move around giroud and anticipate where he's gonna flick the ball to. he's pretty dependable in this situation since he has the strength to hold off defenders and he's been doing the flicks for ages. i want to say we should play more crosses with giroud, but it feels like a long time since i've seen a giroud header.

with welbeck we have a runner, a more traditional forward. the midfield can look to make through passes for him to chase, and make late runs for support to offer him options. having welbeck also allows interchanging between forward players. it's impossible for giroud to change around and play on the flanks, but with welbeck there's a bit of flexibility.

^ transfer him to arsenal in fifa to accelerate the process. i find that alternating ozil/welbeck and santi/giroud through the center to solve the problem of speed. ozil/giroud in the middle is too sluggish for my liking, mixing it around liddat keeps everyone fit and happy

aik, last time i played fifa online (fifa 12 la tapi) you can play costumized teams but that won't be ranked la, like for fun only. i avoid playing unranked matches to avoid custom teams la haha.

i used to play exclusively arsenal on career mode too, after a while bosan sudah same thing again and again. decided to take pool on fifa 13, has less resource less expectation less star players, best part of it was definitely the transfer dealings of the first few seasons. it's also when i realize that arsenal's youth players are crappy, there were lots of useful youth players in pool that i managed to promote. dat assaidi became such a big game performer, allen became a fantastic false 9 player, sterling was still not good in the game yet very useful as a backup player. it was very fun dealing with transfers, until real madrid came with a 100mil offer for suarez which i had to accept, and bought jovetic for 40mil.
