ozil just wont change his playstyle, i dont think you can coach work ethic. he excels at this thing called creating space for others, and to do that i think he prefers being away from the action so that he could receive the ball when it's recovered. alexis has that tevez/jisung approach, he likes to work with the ball, runs with it, runs onto it, dribbles with it. plus ozil's stamina aint that good. mourinho used to sub him off early, i think it's because he instructs ozil to give it his all until he tires out. mata just outright refused to change and got a transfer away.

i just dont think anything can be done to change ozil's work rate. he'll be defensively lazy now and in the future, nothing we can do to change that. what we can change is the players doing the defensive work, and as you may remember i've been vocal about the DM position since last season. welbeck was a great addition, but not adding a DM was criminal. not sure what the deal with carvalho was, i just dont think flamini and arteta are not up to it.
