I would like to confirm the other members' opinion on the dropping of 'pet'.

initially i thought of doing so to, of which i actually did for a while. went on solo vs ubers, kept dying. sad.gif with the companion skill in place and dropped a spender, my DH survival rate was raised significantly.

bane of trapped level 25 slowdown is within short range, helpful with cull of the weak BUT i usually stay far far far away from targets.

currently my hellfire amulet uses steady aim so staying far away does help.

as for gems, I'm currently using
- bane of the powerful for that 15% vs elite, PLUS that bonus after killing elite. at rank 25 the duration lasts for 55 seconds.
- pain enhancer to cause physical bleed upon crit.

would bane of the trapped with "Increase damage against enemies under control-impairing effects" still be a better choice after reach level 50?

Another thing is having 4 spenders. It definitely is possible but you're bottlenecking your main damage spenders. Hence why ppl only run 3. 3 because the 3rd spender will take the place of normal bolts fired by sentry. If you use 2 spenders, it goes like this, MS 2 casts, CA1 cast and normal crappy blank bolts 2 casts per sec. But if you add in FA, it replaces the blank bolts hence optimizing sentry damage. I hope this explanation is clear.

Thanks, I've been using frost elemental arrow all these while. I'm just concerned of the "slow" duration per hit, the higher level ones have such short duration. Well, as long as it works it's all good.

Actually if not for TnT i would really like to use my chest armor that enables 3 wolves. biggrin.gif

As for spenders, yes I experienced the same thing. Tried out 4 but never liked it. I was using FA and such and when I discovered I can use more hate spenders, I did try it but I notice my FA doesn't fire as often as it should because it rotates.

ended up going from my 2 hand bow with 1.40 to Helltrapper with 1.60.

Lower dps overall but i get better AS.

the way I play now, I don't see it dropping caltrops / sentry anymore because i spend more time running.

furthermore with my recent changes in gear, i feel like my DH is a bit weakened (eg die more easily) but i do kill faster despite the lowered dps on paper.

that also I've recently replaced some emerald with diamond for better survival rate.

really need more vit / ar on gears.

sorry what was your setup?

Steady Aim gives added damage bonus when standing at a distance. Running around because I really don't like getting hit.

ehh your resistance averages below 700 each?

hrmm. i recently pump my resistance all to 1k range, toughness is around 8mil in game.

bad enough that you're stuck, and more often than not, get jailed over molten / poison / ice.

ahhh no wonder. I never died to Jailer when I first reached T6 with M6 combo because I was wearing CJC.

It's only when I changed to cc / cd amulet when I started to die from jailer's 1 hit.

got bullied badly by crusader king. sad.gif good thing i got decent dps, had to find the right distance and lure him around the sentry and be on super high-alert to value when he TP.

I have no Unity but for lighting and such, it is possible to survive IF you manage to respond fast enough to vault.

for me jailer is kthxbai.

thunderstorm there's slight chance of escaping depending on where the lighting falls, and i have to vault immediately.

for frozen, same as above, no vault means kthxbai.

rarely die to poison and fire trail. explosion is confirm kthxbai since long time ago.

1. What's this talk going around for Pride's Fall hunting in Act 3 for 2.1.2? We're going to do away with TnT?

2. Need opinion about my DH
a) with Hellfire + Zei, i get perfectionist passive. DPS is low 1.9mil while HP is 160k
b) with CJC, i lose perfectionist but DPS reaches high 1.9mil and HP is 220k

Either way, those HP look damn low and I saw others with some 500k HP DH could survive at least one hit from whatever the enemy has.

My CC is above 50% and CD is above 500%.

Should I reduce my DPS to up my VIT / AR?

Will they fire if they're off-screen?

Another thing, last update I notice the sentries WILL NOT fire until I sighted the enemy.

I wonder of this is the case.

Sorry la gaming rig temporarily disabled. biggrin.gif Have to ask here.

I feel like as toufu DH, the char could at least be given some "sensor" like radar to map out hostiles for the party.
