juz found out from d runnersmalaysia's website that there will be a Kuala Lumpur 10k run @ pdg merbok, on 3 june...

there will be finisher medals available...but d fees is RM40 !! (so expensive for a 10k run, but anyway, i'll be there..hahha)
*
Yeap. I'll be going over to FTAAA office to collect my bibs for Power Run 2007 this Thursday and also to register for this run. Those event that costs RM10 will only give out certificates to finishers. RM40 events gives out medals. Exception for Orange Run. Hehehe...

Sure do. No problem. Will let you know. If FTAAA cannot, lucky my house new 1U. Hehehe...

My knee didn't hurt earlier so I though should be fine. So I went for a run. Just couldn't resist it cause my body feels weird if I don't workout. But it didn't turn out as is suppose to be. As I run, it hurt again and I didn't even last for 20 minutes. sad.gif

Don't ever think of a knee problem. You don't wanna experience it and I pray you won't. I just hope now that I will get through this week's Power Run properly before I go for a 2 weeks rest before the Bomba Run.

Darn it! PJ Half Marathon and Adidas King of the Road clash on 5 August 2007. Haiz... Have to give one of it a miss. Will probably be joining Adidas but I guess there will not be many people for this event as there is only 21KM. No 7KM or 10KM category unlike PJ Half.

QUOTE(deadalus @ Apr 17 2007, 06:34 PM)
which shop in kl has the widest variety of running vest?
visit a few adidas, reebok and nike boutique + Royal Sporting House. but it seems to me that these vendor only carry 1 or 2 design for the running vest, and some of it even running out of stock and odd sizes...

phoenix,
how you normally pinned your tag number onto your adidas ClimaLite running vest? it seems to me their fabric is very vulnerable to needle.
*
Try visiting http://www.mycorezone.com/, this store at SS2 for running vest and adventure wear. Lots of varieties and brands you never heard before. But be prepared to spend as their stuff are mostly imported so you know the price lar. I bought a 2 bottle water belt for RM153 2 weeks ago.

I was actually asking this before the Larian Mesra Polis cause I myself also scratching my head. Everytime I pin my tag on to my vest, I got to do it with extra care. Those pins provided are kinda big so you have to find the correct spot to poke. My KLIM vest I poke until a thread came out. Damn "sakit hati". But right now, I learnt my lesson and so far so good with my other vest. One more advice is, after the run, faster remove the pin from the vest as those pins tend to rust quickly due to your sweat.

QUOTE(Amanda85 @ Apr 17 2007, 06:44 PM)
yea...my running vest oso looks very vulnerable...n guz wat? my mum actually use a extra fine needle n sew it on for me...hahah

Added on April 17, 2007, 6:46 pm
21k?! i sure tak boleh lah..
but for d past 2 years, d pj half marathon oso got clashed wit my dog's event...so every year i oso give it a miss....
*
Your mum is very thoughtful indeed. I did thought of it when I noticed the pins actually rust, but I was too lazy to sew. Haha...

21KM. Think positive. I'm sure you can do it. When I braced myself for this year's 42KM at KLIM 2007, I was very worried too. Even my parents tried to pursue me to back out from it, but I didn't. It took me year to get ready and I kept telling myself that nothing can stop me from completing it. And so, I finally did it and am looking forward to 42KM Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon at year end.

My friends and fellow runners, so sorry if you find me a nag, like an old man or like a gym instructor trying to advice all of you. I just want all of you to know, that all of you can actually do it. I myself have a "story" behind me, and I came as far as today. So keep it up my friends.

mayb u can try buying better quality n smaller pins for yourself, rather than using d one that d organizer provide....

btw, your such a motivator... biggrin.gif
Trying to look for better quality pins now. The pins they supply, I will throw away after each run now cause they will rust.

As for the motivator thingy, well just say I look up to Lance Armstrong. You know, the 7 times Tour de France winner that was down with cancer before winning it. His will to survive has given me aspirations for all this while.

Added on April 18, 2007, 8:48 pmMy fellow runners. Please take note. I just returned from New Balance 1 Utama outlet and met up with one of the person in charge of the NB KL Run 10KM scheduled to be held on 3 June 2007 at Padang Merbok. It seems that the forms are being called back by the organisers, therefore for those who I have send the link to, please ignore it. As for the one posted by Amanda here earlier, please ignore it too. The new forms according to the person I met will be released this Friday, 20 April 2007 at NB outlets and FTAAA office. It seems that there will be a reduction in the entrance fees but I do not know by how much. I will let you guys know when I received news.

Amanda, I just came back home from collecting my bibs for Power Run. The t-shirt not bad lor. Blue in colour. As for Bomba Run, I registered with FTAAA so means can. My number is A053. Not many people register yet. The collection of the Bomba Run bibs is a bit complicated thought. The Bomba HQ is hidden behind Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka. I ask the FTAAA people and so I went and look see look see.

I ask FTAAA about the NB KL Run 10KM. They don't have any idea on it so I guess we have to register with NB outlets like the one in 1 Utama. Will update when I get any news.

Errr... It's a headband. I gotta wear it cause sweat keeps flowing to my eyes if I don't. And since my running gears theme is red in colour, so that's why I bought the red headband. It's cheaper anyway compared to other colours. Hahaha...

Added on April 20, 2007, 10:08 amOh no. Kena snipe by photographer at Orange Run. Horrible shot. Angle not right. Face like kena "kemek". Hey Rashid. You know the person taking pics of you izzit. Senyum pulak. Hahaha...

HIGH 5! *piak* Hehe... Friends that swim with me before said I can swim pretty fast. Just that I cannot stay afloat. It's a pity. Hahaha... Never thought of triathlon. Was thinking of dualthon but on second thoughts, I do not have a bicycle.

I stick with my own principles of cycling (I'm an ex-mountain biker). You don't really need a super duper bike for you to perform. It's more towards the rider.

What's this? Recruiting members who can't swim now? Hahaha...

I think your dog must be thinking, "Why ask me to swim when you can't"? Haha...

Better bike is a bonus to have. When I first started mountain biking many many years ago, I started with a cheap bike (no money last time) and I used that to win races before winning myself a performance bike. It's like running. Compare an Adidas shoe and a Power shoe. Both are made for running and will take you to the finish line eventually. But question is, how comfortable are each pair.

WOW! Got teman. Hmm... Will consider but would want to concentrate more on running now. I'm not sure myself whether am I be able to ride road bike cause it's very different from mountain bike. Besides, as I said, I'm retired from mountain biking so I'm not sure whether is there anything left in me to pedal or not.

Anyway, gotta go pick my dad up now. Will reply once I get back in the evening.
