Seriously ppl rating blackett ahead of Evans?
He has potential but Evans was our main cb in that match. He didn't made a mistake while blackett let the ball bounced and the striker thru
i rate blackett has a better consistency and health than all our CB's, that's it.
i think in terms of skill, experience and attributes he still needs to go a few miles.
but the main thing is he is keeping himself fit and starting in games where smalling/evans/jones should be automatic starters if fit.
so i dunno if he is really that good or he is enjoying a good spell with others being injured.
many players have enjoyed such a spell and displaced the club mainstays, in fact a few season's ago when vidic was out for months and evan's stepped up i thought evans was finally living up to his potential but he crocked just as vidic was fit again

Fans being harsh! Actually all our CBs got room to improve in terms of their form and performances, so no need to be overly brutal in flaming them

Blackett is promising, no doubt. Hope he can continue to improve and cut out that kinda error from his game (and also improve his passing game a bit). Probably just needs time under LVG.
Evans is 26, he needs to work on cutting out his errors / lapses. Don't know if it's an attention thing or something else but that is what is hurting him. Smalling kinda has the same issue, he can deliver solid performances but is prone to lapses at times. They both can deliver good performances (good ceiling) but they need to raise their minimum level (floor) to a better consistent level.
Jones on the other hand needs to adapt his play-style so he doesn't need to be so gung-ho all the time and get injured quite so much... else he will lose out in the long run in terms of fulfilling his potential due to his time out with injuries.
Rojo is very aggressive according to Herrera.. which is good. We need some aggression in our defense, can't be reactive and passive. Smalling and Evans have both conceded goals due to this at times. You know, the kind where when you see the replay they have their eyes on the player/ball but are a step or two too slow or not proactive enough in trying to deal with it? That kinda thing. Could be an issue with improving their reading of the game, could be them being too slow to react, idk.
at the moment we're still reeling from the lost of Rio and Vidic
Rio composed, calculated and smooth
Vidic powerful, energy and tactical
however, i think they wouldn't be able to cope with the filosofi and the only good games they had last season was when giggs played with saf style.
at the moment after 4 games the defenders we have that can play as CB's i would say aren't mediocre but aren't world class but considering the options our top rivals have we're not that far away
and another thing a long time back john terry was a good youth but never could break it into the team until JM came along and made him what he is, so we need to give our guys time to sink in with LVG's filosofi.

if he does come back, he wont be wearing no7 thats for sure

highly doubt a return for CR7
ADM is finally getting a chance to really shine away from CR7 and Bale
it would be terrible for him career wise if CR7 comes eventhough they're friends
that is if we expect CR7 to come join our midfield
one probable scenario of him returning would be as the replacement of RVP a few years down the road
