NORINCO releases prototype of 4-legged military robot

During a robotics expo in Beijing on August 2014, Chinese defense firm NORINCO displays their version of the 4-legged military robot, similar to the US LS3 'Big Dog' robot by Boston Mechanics. The robot prototype is officially named the Mountainous Bionic Quadrupedal Robot, but is informally called "Da gou", which means "Big Dog"in Mandarin.

It says 7 bil is for maintenance AND acquisition. So it depends on how much maintenance cost allocated, then balance can be used to buy new stuff.
*
welp there goes my enthusiasm, thought the whole 7bil is for buying things.

Its considered a big target bro.....55m x 12m. But its not a bigger merchant ship or warship. Even a scrapped one quite expensive to purchase.

Not sure, 20 units were supposed to go to Afghan Air Force, but looks like USAF are having fun with a few these as well. They already has the facilities to build more Super Tucanos, so why not.
*
US Govt crony rage(lockheed, boeing.etc.). laugh.gif I think the tucanos are built inside US with joint venture with their crony.

Interesting RWS concept. The system has a 7.62mm machinegun, 40mm grenade launcher, smoke launchers and a rotating 360-degree opto-electrical sensor gimbal.

user posted image

Looks heavy though, probably only suited to tanks and heavier APCs.
*
7.62 seems underpowered for a rws, better put .50 cal or 20mm. Is there a sniping platform using rws(longer barrel, etc.)? They should make one since it can be stabilize better than human operated gun and can be really useful in insurgency since the opponent probably hide among civilian and reduce collateral damage.

Got any news or video of chinese military hardware in use in africa? I've seen small arms in pictures but these new bigger items still not around. They probably have a big military hardware consumption inside so not really have the time/inventory to export out yet.
