Will we ever consider AN-70 to supplement the A-400M? From the spec, it has greater range, greater fuel economy and it's cost almost 1/3rd of the A400M. When European Air Force started the FLA program (Future Large Aircraft) An-70 was chosen as the leading design. But because of the pressure from the political institution and Europe Aviation industries, A400M was chosen instead. Since we dont have the political limitation the Europe have, maybe we can acquire some of this aircraft.

Do you guys think armed drones would be useful to malaysia?? We could use them to patrol scs, esscom and wherever there are conflicts etc since the mq1 predator for example has an endurance of more than 24 hours, a lot more than full sized planes. Plus the predator only costs 4 million so we could buy large numbers of them if needed, and ctrm and sapura could use some help in uav design biggrin.gif

If you say predator 4 million, this news reported the arv we have is 47 million EACH wor. So must be better than predator wor..
http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/12133

They had a few ctrm eagle ARV but dunno what happen.
Better if they can add some hardpoints to it for arment

RMAF takes delivery of three Eagle ARV aircraft
Edition: Main/Lifestyle; 2*
Section: Nation

PETALING JAYA, Mon. - The Eagle ARV (Airborne Reconnaissance Vehicle) system, with three surveillance aircraft worth about RM47 million, was delivered to the Royal Malaysian Air Force today.

The three aircraft will be deployed to Semporna, Sabah, next month to monitor the coast of Sabah. It can fly up to 10 hours before refuelling.
Twelve men, comprising six operators and six engineers from the air force, will be posted to Semporna to operate the aircraft.
