anyway it cost can go up to usd 30 million if want full function.

just compare M-346 also cost usd 30 million each (S'pore order)
hawk 2xx light attack jet also cost 30~33 each.
TA-50 close to 40 million. (indo order)

K2 project was progressing fast ahead while the engine development was behind

They turn to japan originally for their type 10 mtu. But japan do not want to sell, it was long ago and japan still imposed their self restrictions on weapon sales to other country. I dunno engine can consider weapon lol.. but tat was before they relax tat rule around tis year

So german come in hand. Originally they was already part of adviser team. So the idea of design from german is already thre. That why the mtu 890 can fit easily. It was also for testing purposes in the k2 (other system) while waiting their own indegenous power pack is to be ready. But problem continously come to the local made mtu and the top finnaly fed up and decided to order field the k2 asap to avoid negative public opinion. The project was already over budget and with tis engine problem will most probably cost more.

No problem for the german.. Thre money to be made plus it not like it a top secret classified technology. It just an power pack haha. Alot of country have it including our pt91m although their is a higher power variant

HJ-8L ATGM

The system can use the same missile as the original HJ-8, or a smaller, lighter missile with shorter range. The main improvement of the system is that it has a smaller and lighter tracking system (hence the 'L' for 'Light') which reduces the overall weight of the system to 22.5kg, light enough to be carried by at least 2 men (1 carries the tracker unit & 1 carries the missile tube.
