Hm, I followed up until Method A and got the below error when I run Flash_all_except_data_storage.bat.
And when I use Method B, it says "waiting for device". But the phone already plugged in to PC and in fastboot mode.

Downloaded MiFlash and trying to use it to flash with the Malaysian ROM but it says partition table doesn't exist. Then I use the other ROM downloaded from here and it has been "sending 'tz'" for a while now. sad.gif

Guess I'll have to bring it to the shop.

Dammit, now it's constantly in fastboot mode and I can't get out of it. dry.gif

Since you have mentioned that your friend used the phone in Malaysia... then it should be a wcdma version. It could be a driver/OS problem. Which windows version are you on?

You can also get out of fastboot mode by pressing the power button for awhile, probably about 10 secs.

Was on windows 7. Tried that to get out of fast boot but can't.

Anyway, went to directd last night to settle it already and they updated the software too. Everything okay now.  laugh.gif

Thanks.

They updated it to 4.3 JLS36C, MIUI-JHCMIBH43.0. Phone is awesome now. biggrin.gif

Good choice, try not to update to v45 if you can and wait for a better version.

QUOTE(nodeffect @ Oct 29 2014, 02:22 PM)
guys, does updating/flashing or whatever u guys mentioned above solved the SMS issue? cuz my phone cant reply SMS back as all the numbers becomes 12-xxxxxx. The zero is gone!... Thanks for the help...
*
Try clearing cache, if still got problem wipe both cache and data. Final option is to flash a fastboot ROM.

Is the problem with new/unknown caller or saved contacts? Are you on v45?

new/unknown caller and I'm on v45.... you don't have such problem ?
*
I have experienced it on v45 but not on previous versions. I'm using v43 now.

I even have this problem with my saved contact. So when I tried to reply a message, it will be unsuccessful. So far if I want to reply a message from somebody whose number appeared without "0", I have to manually insert the number of that person and send the message. Then only I'm able to reply the message and after that the "0" will somehow appear.  hmm.gif
*
Never experience it on saved contacts before on all versions. As soon as I got the phone, I appended +6 to all my saved contacts in gmail and sync...

Any idea how you remove one extra zero in between +6 and 01xxxxxxxx?
I have numbers in my contacts saved like this now (+6001Xxxxxxxx) which is pretty hilarious and troublesome at the same time.
*
You can try 'number fixer' app. Goto 'Delete area/country code> Find number with 12 digits, put +60 to remove.

Then find 10 digits number> add +6 again to them.

*update: typo, I meant 12 digits

You're welcome. This bug is not new... don't know why xiaomi's not bothered to fix such a basic function.

I'm using Pac Man ROM so it's the problem with Android I guess?

QUOTE(imbibug @ Oct 31 2014, 02:57 PM)
I think the explanation was that the problem was buried deep inside miui and is difficult to fix. Probably only a version jump like miui v6 will fix the problem.
*
If xiaomi release the kernel source, nobody will want to use MIUI anymore. I don't know if Xiaomi devs are an incompetent bunch or just too little time with too much to do.

Which ROM are you using ? the fastboot ROM ?
*
Both are from fastboot ROMs now. Before it was recovery ROM install.

really disappointed with this device, even a simple SMS problem also cant be solved.

yup hope the kitkat update will be a proper and good one. Most of the custom ROMs are based off MIUI... problems like this can't be solved without the kernel source.

Should work fine if you add +6 to all phone numbers using the number fixer app.

Anyone encountered redmi1s automatically went into FASTBOOT mode by itself? After that totally no response even waiting for 2 hours. I need to take out the battery manual to restart the phone and it is working again.

Why do this happen? Any idea?
*
I never got fastboot mode randomly. Some of the old folks with redmi 1s had this problem. When I told them about the sensitive buttons, no more restarts, shutting off and going into fastboot mode.

Btw you can get out of fastboot mode by pressing and holding the power button for awhile until the phone restarts.
