Anyone tried RedMeXtreme rom?
They claimed that it can last 6 hour 45 minutes++ (heavy usage) with guaranteed 6hours of SOT .

I haven't but I think that the cpu might be underclocked in that rom to make it possible. I think the 1.6Ghz rating might have been on the high side conditional upon good cooling which the redmi 1s does not have. Pulling back the cpu clock a little bit might be a good thing.

hi guys, i bought this phone for my dad a couple of months back, who by the way has never used a smartphone before.

It was running fine until he told me he can't whatsapp and browse. I'm working in KL and he's in another state. I went back recently and found out that the phone downloaded a SECURITY and I fiddled with it and somehow unblocked the data usage.

I'm away again and now he tells me it is blocked again. My bad I did not teach him what to do. But can you guys let me now how to permanently delete that shit?

I flashed CM11 for all 6 units of 1S. So much faster and better than MIUI. Stable too. Gave all to my workers. Took back their Moto G and Galaxy Nexus for custom ROM experiment.

Nope. Latest CM11 is cm-11-20141201-UNOFFICIAL-armani no stability / heat problems.

Make sure u wipe the following:

data / cache / dalvik / system

Before installing the new ROM. When done, wipe:

data / cache / dalvik

Then only reboot.

[pic of rom 45.0]
Maybe only if you aren't doing anything with it. The phone feels laggy because of the clock throttling and the zram compression introduced in 43.0. Simple tasks like browsing on a single tab causes the temperature to shoot up to 38C which is the limit for throttling.
And gaming causes the phone to run hot (as before) because the redmi will not throttle when a game is running.

That setting inside the default security app (which is the same or linked to the setting under battery settings) does not help with the heat issue or the laggy performance. Browsing on 1 tab will still send the temps to 38C under the (default) cpu balanced setting. I think all the performance setting does is to adjust how many apps can run in the background and the throttling limit.
